Sacramento City College Reviews
Rating 3.74 out of 5 1,227 reviews
The professors and quality of education at this school is mostly great, but I have had a few bad experiences with professors that unfortunately prevented me from giving it five stars. The overall atmosphere of the campus and the common areas can sometimes be a little intimidating, especially with the huge diversity in age and life situation the student body encompasses. However, the upkeep of the facilities and amount of student outreach is very good for a school that is free for a large majority of it's students! My experience here has overall been a positive one.
I applied to Sacramento city college as a full time student then gradually became a part time student and part time worker in 2021. The professors are very knowledgeable in their field of study and provided much help when needed. I feel that I have learned more than I did when I attended California State University of Sacramento previously due to a more interactive environment and smaller class sizes. The campus is a little older, but still provides a safe and quiet space to study and interact with other students.
Some changes I would like to see here is to provide more program availability for allied health majors as it is very difficult to get in the first try. There is also very long waitlist causing others to refer to private colleges.
Additionally, I’d like to see changes in food and nutrition that is being served here. I once bought a sandwich for $8 that I did not finish because it was very plain and dry.
Lastly, I would like to see the campus renovated and properly cleaned.

I still have a couple months to finish up at Sacramento City College. Overall, I feel really great about my decision to start at this school and then transfer to a four year. The majority of my professors were approachable and very helpful. It was clear that they really wanted to see their students succeed. I only attended actual on-campus classes for one semester, but the atmosphere was nice and quiet, which I enjoyed. The library is also really beautiful and a great space to go if you need to get some work done in a quiet space. I’ve had a great time at Sacramento City College, and although my time was brief, I still learned a lot and am excited for the next chapter.
