Hailing from Lucknow, K P Saxena is noted writer and satirist in the Hindi film industry.

Saxena is a prolific writer and has written satire for many popular newspapers and magazines. Known for unique style, he was awarded Padma Shri in the year 2000.

Saxena made his small screen debut as a writer with Bibi Natiyon Wali, a famous serial on Doordarshan. He has written dialogues for many popular Hindi films, including Lagaan, Hulchul, Swades and Jodhaa Akbar, which was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Dialogue category.

He also published a book on satire named Koi Patthar Se Na Mare in 1982.
