Outlander star Lauren Lyle thrills fans with Scotland filming update

Outlander star Lauren Lyle thrilled fans as she took to social media to confirm she is currently filming in Scotland, giving fans an insight into her trip.

Lauren, who plays the role of Marsali Fraser in the hit Starz show, is likely continuing scenes for the eighth and final season of the historical romance. The actress shared a snippet of what she's been up to with fans on her Instagram page.

The fanbase, which is based on Diana Gabaldon's franchise, has amassed thousands of loyal readers and viewers from across the globe. People have been eagerly awaiting the second installment of season seven.

However Lauren's announcement has sent a fresh spark of excitement among fans, as she shared what she was getting up to inbetween filming takes in Scotland. Clips showed her sightseeing, swimming, and driving in the gorgeous landscapes.

“I’m filming in Scotland so come with me!!," she captioned the post alongside the various clips as fans soon rushed to the comments to share their excitement.

One person wrote: “I cannot wait to see you in season 8 of Outlander!” as another shared: “Thanks for giving us a glimpse. Looks like fun. Can’t wait to see all you guys’ hard work on the screen.”

A third fan quipped: “Outlander season 8!!?? I'm happy and sad at the same time … Thank you for all these years with Outlander and for being Marsali.”

It came as delightful news that Lauren would be returning to screens for the last series as Marsali, alongside her on-screen husband César Domboy who plays the role of Fergus Fraser.

The show's official Instagram account saw main stars Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan dressed in their roles of Jamie and Claire Fraser as they teased fans about what's to come. They hinted people can look forward to a “new cast and new set."

Caitriona added: “Do you know what else we have? Some old cast," as she panned the camera around to show Lauren and César confirming the much-loved characters returning for the last installment.
