- reise31,275 contributionsSmall, intimate theatre - great place to see a performance. There are productions suitable for children &/or adults. We just saw Kinky Boots. Orlando Shakes shares a parking lot with the Orlando Museum of Art. If you have an account, you’ll receive a reminder text to arrive early if there are multiple events in the area.Written April 22, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jamie LClermont, FL2 contributionsBeautiful theater. Extremely clean and modern. The employees there were very friendly. Outside is very clean. Could definitely use more options when it comes to the concessions. I was not impressed by that.Written October 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Cat (on the road)17 contributionsSuper comfy recliner chairs, clean and nice. However, it's kind of big, so it's easy to get lost if you don't keep tabs on where you're going.Written March 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - John LLakeland, FL1 contributionWe went for the O.A.R show which was standing room. I think next time we will spring for balcony seats. The venue was great, had some memorabilia when you first walk in. I wish they had bathrooms on the main level. We found a little corner bar since the main bar was busy. Drinks are a bit pricey but the bartender Mike was awesome and quick, also sold us on a souvenir cup. He even made my wife something special. All in all the night was great! We will be back.Written May 22, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Mediterranean_GirlWashington, DC96 contributionsThe City Beautiful is so extraordinary if you venture out and see what it has in store for you. Nowhere is this more apparent than at Timucua, which offers a plethora of events for serious arts lovers. For most of us living in Orlando, it's right here where we live, and to not take advantage of it is a cardinal sin.
For an introduction, I highly recommend attending an Energy Wheel performance on the first Wednesday of any given month, which is an extraordinary "sound bath" experience that's truly unique in this world and will have you connected to whatever intention that may be top of mind. This is the opposite of Disney, it's that great.Written March 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The men’s bathroom was closed and we were all herded into the small men’s room. It was pretty ridiculous. The drinks were priced well and plenty of adult beverage choices. The concert was great and the size of the hall is intimate. I would go back.Written April 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jason SLakeland, Florida, United States184 contributionsbetter prices than other theaters much cleaner and an enjoyable experience. one thing no theater can control is the audience please be kind to your fellow movie goersWritten November 15, 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - reise31,275 contributionsWe've been to many shows at The REP, the latest being The Legend of Sleep Hollow. The theatre is intimate & the variety of productions are family friendly & engaging. This is truly a local gem for families & for introducing children to live theatre.Written October 24, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - bobandamy57Apopka, FL40 contributionsThis is a fantastic little backyard venue that is so much fun! Plenty of room to stretch out and enjoy some great acts. Most acts lean towards Folk, Bluegrass etc. The host, Mark, is a great guy and has everything you need to be comfortable. Most events require a small recommended donation. Many are pot luck. Many are benefit concerts Do yourself a favor and check them out!Written October 31, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Resort784208Clearwater, FL108 contributionsFirst time at this venue. The lines for beverages are crazy long! On the other side of that, the line for the Ladiea room is pretty short with the attendant keeping things clean. You can take beverages into your seats however, there are no cup holders. Seems like that would be a great addition and better thtan using the floor. The sound tech this past Saturday seemed to not be able to eliminate the echo a big deal during a monologue!Written September 16, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - galindauplands7 contributionsI visited Me theatre to see Carrie the Musical and it was fantastic. The cast had a real connection and the direction of the musical was fantastic. - Minamo67Orlando, FL73 contributionsTheatreSouth Playhouse is a theater in Dr. Phillips. Yes! A theater! Not a restaurant! Dr. Phillips is lucky to have such a variety of places to eat, but then what? This is a live theater and not a movie theater, so the shows aren’t continuous, but if you are able to catch a show (their next show “Sping Awakening” will be in early November, 2018) you will see a professionally produced show with talented children. Ok- don’t groan- these productions are not offkey, poorly rehearsed, hackneyed productions. The children work with professional vocal and dance coaches, many who are performers at Disney and are members of Actor’s Equity. Plus- these kids- from ensemble players to leads- know their stuff and give 100% to ensure a quality production. If you are also in town for the summer, TSP offers great summer camps for children of many ages. Classes in dance, acting, singing and more are also available during the school year. So check out their website and see what TheatreSouth has to offer!Written July 19, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - wwarren12018Clermont, FL8 contributionsFantastic organization that has something for everyone. A huge choir (300+ people) that puts on two huge shows a year. Several orchestras, (adult and youth), a community theater company, a youth theater program and private voice and singing lessons. Oh, a dance company a elder program. It goes on an on. Dedicated to helping other nonprofits achieve their goals.Written April 7, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DaytonaGuyHaines City, FL1,028 contributionsAs self descibrd, the Rn is a relatively new non-profit theatre company dedicated to creating and developing original theatrical experiences in Orlando and beyond, with intentional focus on fair pay for artists, highlighting diverse perspectives, environmental sustainability, and creating Theatre in new and innovative ways.
Their productions are unlike anything Orlando has seen before! From special nights like Musical Mondays, to HIGHLY immersive shows like Nasfaratu to fun shows like The Office Party series.
There recent show, From Here, is preparing for its Off Broadway run! The cast has a number of Ren actors, along with some new faces!
I encourage you to check out their website to see what's going on and give them a visit. The tickets are reasonably priced, and in some instances, $10 tickets are available. There are often After Parties for a small additional cost. The drinks are reasonably priced, and somewhat unique. Pictured are 2 I had!Written April 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
