The youngest son of Patrick Kluivert signed his first professional contract today.
Former outstanding Dutch striker Patrick Kluivert has ensured his legacy is well-maintained.
He has four sons, all of whom are footballers. The latest to step into the world of professional football is the mere 16-year-old Shane Kluivert, who has been playing in Barcelona's youth academy since he was nine.
The Catalan club evidently sees potential in him, as the young talent inked his first professional contract today, marking the beginning of his serious football journey.
His three brothers have had varying degrees of success in football. The eldest is 26-year-old Quincy, who is currently without a club, last known to be part of a lesser-known Dutch club named AFC Amsterdam Zaterdag.
Next in line is 24-year-old Justin Kluivert, who among all Kluivert sons has achieved the most. He began his career at Ajax, later played for Roma, Leipzig, Nice, and Valencia, and is currently with English Premier League side Bournemouth.
Between Justin and Shane is 22-year-old Ruben Kluivert, a central defender currently playing for Dordrecht in the second-tier Dutch league.
Patrick Kluivert played for Barcelona between 1998 and 2004. During this period, he made 257 appearances, scoring an impressive 122 goals, and clinched the Spanish league title in the 1998/99 season.
