FBI: International Season 3 (CBS): Release Date, Cast, More - Parade Skip to main content

FBI: International is arguably the most scenic installment of the FBI franchise. It follows the International “Fly Team” from the Federal Bureau of Investigation as they investigate and neutralize crime and terrorism abroad, specifically in an effort to protect American citizens. The team is headquartered in Budapest, Hungary, and the majority of the crimes are investigated in Europe, where most of the show is filmed (CBS spares no expense when it comes to Dick Wolf).

The ensemble procedural, which debuted in 2021, is now in its third season, which premiered Feb. 13, 2024. Here's everything to know about Season 3 of FBI: International, including the latest cast updates.

How did FBI: International Season 2 end?

In the Season 2 finale of FBI: International, the Fly Team was tasked with tracking down a stolen Russian missile that was put on the black market in Budapest. The team needed to secure the stolen weapon before it could be brokered into dangerous hands by a mysterious American arms dealer.

They were able to intercept the warhead in transit and have it transferred to an American army base for analysis, but they were not out of danger. When the team was moving an important witness, a bomb went off. Special Agent Raines (Carter Redwood) witnessed the explosion, but it's unknown if the team got out in time or if the witness was hurt during the blast, meaning the season ended on a pretty big cliffhanger.

Will there be a Season 3 of FBI: International?

FBI: International is already back for a third season. As with FBI and FBI: Most Wanted, the series was renewed for two seasons in May 2022.

What is the release date for FBI: International Season 3?

Normally the show would have come back in the fall of 2023, but it was delayed due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Instead, the show premiered Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024, at 9 p.m. ET.

Heida Reed as Special Agent Jamie Kellett in FBI: International on CBS

Deadline reported in December 2023 that Heida Reed, who played second-in-command Special Agent Jamie Kellett since the show premiered, would exit early in the third season, and she did. Her departure is a "creative decision," according to the outlet.

So how was she written off? Reed's character managed to survive the sudden explosion of the Fly Team's headquarters, and all of her colleagues escaped (although not all were unscathed). However, their moment of celebration over the fact that the team was "intact" was cut short when Kellett revealed she was leaving Budapest for D.C.

"I'm leaving. I'm transferring to the Washington Field Office. I leave tomorrow," she told them suddenly. She went on to say more emotional goodbyes to everyone and headed off on a train with the name "June" drawn on her palm with a smirk.
