About Metro Early College High School...

Enrolling

From Metro Early College High School

Metro is a mastery-based school, which means the end goal of instruction and assignments is to ensure students are able to demonstrate an understanding of content before moving on in the curriculum. Metro works from the premise that there is no select group of STEM students; every student has the capacity to engage in critical thinking and problem solving across the curriculum and regardless of their college/career goals.

Metro Tenets for STEM learning:

Student Centered -

Students must learn through seeking, testing and applying new knowledge.

Focused on Skills & Habits -

STEM Education must build problem-solvers, not fact reciters.

Based in the Real World -

STEM curriculum must be relevant to the expectations of the real world.

Outside the Classroom -

STEM education must leverage local partnerships to benefit students and the community simultaneously.
