Live from Leyland: Leeds physio confirms Adam Forshaw and Liam Cooper injury updates
Leeds United head of medicine and performance Rob Price has confirmed that Adam Forshaw is on the verge of returning from injury.
Forshaw, 28, has not featured for the Whites since September due to a hip injury which Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth has described as “complicated”.
However Price has confirmed to MOT Leeds News that the former Middlesbrough midfielder is, in fact, edging closer to a return to action.
“He’s nearly there,” said Price in Leyland on Monday night when Leeds’ Under-23s beat Bolton 5-1 at the Lancashire FA ground.
When asked if Forshaw’s injury is weird, Price added: “Not at all, it’s just because we haven’t quite put it out what it actually is.”
Price also confirmed that Liam Cooper is back on the mend after his spell on the sidelines.
Cooper, 28, has missed Leeds’ last three Championship fixtures and when asked if the Scottish centre-back would be ready to play against Fulham on Saturday, Price said: “He’s back in training.
“If he gets through this week ok, he will play.”
Leeds let slip of a three-goal lead to draw 3-3 with Cardiff at Elland Road on Saturday.
There was a feeling that the absence of Cooper contributed to that as a mistake by young substitute Pascal Struijk was part of the Whites’ downfall.
Once Cooper is back in action, you would imagine that it would be hard for Leeds to concede three goals in a single match once again this season.
