Position:

Bilingual (Spanish-English) Registered Nurse (RN)

Schedule:

Full Time, Monday – Friday, 8am – 4:00pm, plus one (1) Saturday per month 8am - 2pm

Salary:

Commensurate with experience. Full time employees receive medical, dental and vision insurance as well as other benefits (to be discussed upon interview)

We have an incredible opportunity for a Bilingual (Spanish-English) Registered Nurse with Novus ACS at our NEW Reading location! The ideal candidate will be a responsible and well-trained professional able to provide excellent nursing care. You will be compassionate and cool-tempered. You will be able to follow health and safety guidelines faithfully and consistently. The goal is to promote the well-being and sexual health of our patients by providing high quality nursing care and education.

About the Organization:

Novus ACS was designed to meet the needs of sexually active adults providing quality, affordable care to patients regardless of gender, sexual identity, gender expression or sexual orientation. We uphold a high standard of patient care, working only with highly trained and organized medical specialists. We specialize in STD and HIV testing and prevention. We offer free STD treatment as well as Hepatitis C and HIV Care programs. We provide a safe and comfortable environment. We are LGBTQ friendly!

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients and assist with patient examinations and therapies
  • Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.)
  • Observe and assess patients including Identifying, assessing and evaluating persons with STDs
  • Administer treatments and medications according to Nurse Practitioner orders
  • Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing rooms, etc.), adhering to infection-control protocols
  • Supervise and train medical assistants and phlebotomist
  • Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients
  • Maintain complete and accurate patient records, preparing and maintaining appropriate confidential patient records per office policy and HIPPA standards.
  • Contact patients regarding need for treatment and insure treatment and partner notification when applicable.
  • Collect specimens according to guidelines so that none are deemed unacceptable for testing.
  • Counsel clients on STD/HIV risk reduction and partner notification.
  • Follow medication administration and storage procedures and regulations
  • Perform other related duties as required or directed.
  • Observe and abide by HIPAA and the HIV Confidentiality Law requirements

Skills:

  • Proven experience as a registered nurse
  • Bilingual (Spanish-English) required
  • Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to follow them at all times
  • A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Responsible and compassionate
  • Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to take initiative and problem solve effectively
  • Must demonstrate ability to work effectively with men and women of diverse races, ethnicities, ages, and sexual orientations in a multicultural environment.
  • Must be highly motivated with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong interpersonal and organization skills.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree, bachelor’s degree or diploma from an approved nursing program
  • Current licensure by the PA state nursing board
  • Certifications as required such as BLS, CPR and ACLS
