What a joke this place is. I leave empty handed most of the time because they don't have what is advertised. The only reason I go back is to spend my points but I have switched cards so I am so done with them. The last straw was last night. Bought a $120 handbag for my girlfriend and a rifle for myself. We found another woman's ID so it was obviously used but selling as new. I called them for 20 minutes before anyone would answer the phone. I realize they are probable short staffed but I tried to connect with all the departments. They said bring it back and we will give you a refund. No kidding! Just a 190 mile round trip.

Went to Cabela's to pick up some ammo/shooting supplies and the entire department is empty, I have been there 3 times in the past year, still no inventory. Looked for sleepwear and there is none. This business is now nothing but a junk shop, there is no useful merchandise for outdoors and sports anymore. Although there is a cloth face covering order for the state of Maine, the employee in Cutlery had no cloth face cover and customers without face covers were chatting with other employees. We are going going to cash in our Cabela's points on the credit card and get rid of it. A total waste to time to stop at Cabela's anymore.

We needed a safe place to stay overnight in our RV. Cabela's offered many parking spots as well as RV dump station for minimal cost of $5. Their potable water spiggot was not working unfortunately so the only option to fill our water tank was from non-potable, so we opted not to fill, for safety reasons. Thank you to this Cabela's for being RV friendly, as all Cabela's are not.

I was here prior to them being bought out by Bass pro, Went here as I am sure most ladies do with a guy who wanted to do guns knives, and archery. I shopped around, now I was here when they first opened and loved it, while the floor plan is basicly the same everything else has gone to hell. As he shopped I did to now as you would expect it is not cheap with north face, and under armor, But coming from the outlet capital of the world it seems and I have these stores in my town with no tax I was not buying that. So I went to look at the household stuff which had been cut down drasticly. I got sheets for 11.00 great deal got dog treats, a door mat, some jerky to eat on the drive home. a bottle of water. As I was standing at the candy section I noticed a dump bin full of Christmas inflatables. Now we are huge on Christmas and Halloween. Big signs clearly marked the two small ones were 40.00 the bigger one was 50.00 so I found my son in law and we chose the one with the ATV at 40. Now it starts we get to the register, Did you pay for that water Yes I did. and we run the stuff pay and off we go. I get home 1 hr 40 min away and check all my recipts instead of 40. they charged me 59.97. I email them explain the whole issue they apologize the sale ended 1/1 19 well on 1/6 it was still up. So they will credit me in 72 hours 19.97 well as of today 1/13 I have not seen a thing. so if you go here before you leave CHECK your recipts. Also long walk from parking, No cookbooks which I collect.

Cabela’s had a big Father’s Day Sale underway during my visit. Dads were helping to select their gifts for their upcoming special day. One was very happy with a fishing rod which his daughter carried for him.

There were some sale items in the women’s section of the store. I didn’t find anything that I couldn’t live without, but it was fun to browse.

Although Cabela’s is a large chain store, I prefer Kittery Trading Post for sporting goods and related clothing.

I rate Cabela’s at 4.0.

If you've never been inside a Cabela's before, you're in for a surprise. That's why I got TripAdvisor to list it as an attraction in Scarborough. Yes, it is a big store, focusing on outdoor sports. But here's what else it has: a large display of taxidermied wildlife, including very large mammals; a huge fresh water aquarium with native fish; a laser shooting gallery; and a cafe. The latter two do cost money, but the nature displays are a great free entertainment for all ages. A fun place to go to in Maine if the weather is keeping you from doing other things. I am not a hunter and am against guns, but it's interesting to see the (stuffed) animals up close, and even to shoot the toy laser guns at inanimate objects.

The store is the catalogue come to life. This large store has an aquarium back by the fishing gear, and in the center of the hunting / clothes section there is a mountain with lots of different stuffed animals. A wide array of clothes to be able to see and try on. Gear is all high quality.

This is the greatest outdoor store I have seen. There is even a shooting gallery inside like in fairs. It is worth the detour if you need to shop for outdoor stuff because they have everything.

We drove from Vermont to Scarborough Maine to Cabela’s like we do every couple years. This visit was disappointing I asked for assistance finding an item and was told by staff if it isn’t there we done have it ( never looked at what item I was checking or anything)
After selecting some items while trying to check out the sale items had not been updated in their register so we had to catch them and have them fix the price, they then tried charging for two item at 47.99 instead of just the one we have.
The register operator was more interested in getting our phone number than paying attention to what he was doing.
Very disappointed!!!

Ohhh I Love This Place !! This store has more goodies. From Guns and Ammo, Fishing equipment, Camping, Outdoor sports, Reloading supplies, very nice selection. The employees are very polite, and helpful. They treat the customers with respect !! You have to know your prices just like in any other store. But most importantly they have what you want.
