Morphine (2) – At Your Service

This is a very messy Morphine compilation: all of the outtakes, the main interest, are some of Morphine's worst tracks, for obvious reasons. Lilah II and Imaginary Song are particular standouts in this first half of the album, and the rest vary. The second half has a decent live collection, most of these seem picked at random. The Saddest Song in particular is horrid, for what reason they included it I can't figure out. The alternate outtakes are all very good, probably the best reason to get this album. Some of the songs have the wrong names, too: "Put It Down (Wo-Oh)" is All Your Way, "I'd Catch You" is an outtake of Like A Mirror, and lastly, Shade and Shadow are nearly the same song, but with different vocals overlaid in "parts" IV and V. The songs are just outtakes of I Know You (Part III). There is a good amount of good tracks here, but some good hidden tracks are still not included, like Birthday Cake and Virgin Bride, with what I know. This wasn't thought out very well at all, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if the other members of Morphine had nothing to do with the compiling of these tracks. Overall, I'd only recommend this to Morphine fans already familiar with the rest of their discography, it still has some worth.
