Reviews
- Edited one year agoI would disagree, this album is chock full of A-Class songs including "I Woke Up In Love This Morning" the hardest rocker they ever recorded, with the harpsichord on the intro sounding rather cool! "Summer Days" is wonderful up-tempo power-pop perfection, and "One Night Stand" open the album on a very strong note. Shirly is heard all over the album, or someone who sounds just like her. "Echo Valley 26809" another stone classic shows off David's strong vocals at his early peak.
This album features Larry Carlton on guitar and Hal Blane on drums, and they can't go wrong with songs are great as these. Beginning to end a total knock-out!!!! Sound quality is lovely as well, the mix sound very undated / spacious, so it sounds nice on a good system. The Razor & Tie CD sounds fine, but other issues might be just as good on CD.
Can't believe anyone could knock Keith Partridge and Family's best album. Grab this if you like Power-Pop and good record production of the very early 70s. - Ahh, harpsichord - the bane of 70s AM pop. This record is drenched with it. Also, it's much more of a David Cassidy showcase; Shirley is hardly heard (if at all). Still enjoyable, with some good songs (notably "Echo Valley 2-6809"), but nowhere near as good as the first album.
