The 174th Attack Wing primarily performs the Remotely Piloted Aircraft mission. This involves a variety of operations, including close air support, air interdiction, intelligence collection and quick strike capabilities with minimal danger to military personnel. 174th Attack Wing

The mission of the 174th Attack Wing, at Hancock Field Air National Guard Base in Syracuse, New York, is to provide Airmen and weapon systems for engaging in global air, space, and cyberspace operations, as well as supporting homeland defense, joint operations, and aid civil authorities at the direction of the Governor. Formerly an F-16 unit, the 174th ATKW now operates MQ-9 Reaper unmanned combat aircraft. The 174th ATKW has been awarded a number of Air Force Outstanding Unit awards.

274th Air Support Operations Squadron

The 274th Air Support Operations Squadron operates out of Hancock Field. Located in Syracuse, New York, the mission of the 274th Air Support Operations Squadron includes the Air Support Operations mission and the Tactical Air Control Party mission.
