The game Mother 3, which some of you may or may not have played or may know has a couple of unique features that are impossible to make without a plugin.


So im asking for probably more than just me if anybody would make a battle system replicating these few things:


Just like in Earthbound, the HP scrolls down once your character takes damage, instead of being instant. This also means that if a party member takes fatal damage, they can still survive if healed in time.


 Same scrolling effect applies to PP(Basically mana).


The battle menu has a different shape and format from the default RPG Maker one, heres a screenshot from the game:

All i really request are the 4 status boxes at the bottom, the type of text box at the top isn't really anything Im requesting.


The game also shows your characters front facing head sprite pop up from your text box as shown here:

Again, the menu placement at the top and its format would be nice, but not requested


The game also has a attacking system where you can hit on time with the battle music's "heartbeat" but that would probably be just as much


as a hassle to use as it would be to create.


Im sure in the future Earthbound plugins will pop up, but Mother 3 ones are more rare, and that's why I felt the need to request one

I should also add that it should be set up as if the max health will never be past or equal to 1,000 and always have 3 number slots, and it would also be really nice if the animations would actually play over the status boxes/ show on the screen


I feel like im requesting too much of a task considering that if anyone did decide to do something like this that they wouldn't be getting much out of it.

I like the sound of HP changing gradually and having the chance to heal an actor just moments after a fatal strike.

It would especially work perfectly with the ATB system!

You could even have a notetag to put on items and skills to make the damage/healing instant to keep things varied and challenging.

P.S. I never played the Mother games but geez how much I want to now!

Well in terms of turn order, the games its used in is nearly exactly the same as the default as it uses speed or agility, but the main difference is there is


a message for nearly everything that happens and its just like normal dialog that you have to push a button to get through.


As an example, as a general rule of thumb, the more bad stuff that happens to you the harder it is to recover an actor who is gonna die.


If someone get a status you have to wait 1 second for the sound/animation for getting a status to play, then for the status message, and if ANOTHER actor


takes fatal damage, then the screen will shake, a louder sound will play, and a longer message alerting you will also show.


So really, it requires a good bit of extra balancing, which is why I didn't just ask for a odometer plugin that you could just slap on to any other battle system. That and I wanted the interface too.
