Dominic "D-Trix" Kyle Sandoval (born October 15, 1985) is a Hip-Hop dancer, specifically Breakdance. He competed during the third season of So You Think You Can Dance and placed in the Top 8.

Biography[]

He began breakdancing at age 13 and has performed at NBA and WNBA games, as well as won the 2005 "Evolution 2" competition held in Orlando, Florida with his breaking crew, Flexible Flav. He lists Ivan "The Urban Action Figure"—who has appeared on America's Got Talent—as his favorite professional dancer. Sandoval aspires to learn all styles and genres of dance and to be known as a dancer, rather than just a breaker.

Three months before the 2007 Season 3 SYTYCD Los Angeles auditions, in order to prepare, Sandoval took Hip-Hop and choreography classes.

Post-SYTYCD[]

Dominic, aka D-Trix, is currently a member of Quest Crew, Flexible Flav, and StepBoyz. Quest Crew, comprised of fellow "So You Think You Can Dance" stars Hokuto "Hok" Konishi and Ryan Conferido, were the champions of MTV's America's Best Dance Crew Season 3. D-Trix has toured with Quest Crew and taught dance workshops around the country. Since then, he has danced for a variety of notable celebrities such as Usher, Pitbull, Snoop Dogg, Ellen and Sean Kingston. He has worked in movies as well, including Freakdance and Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel.

Dominic returned to So You Think You Can Dance as an All-Star in Season 7 and left Quest Crew because they felt they were going in different directions. After going on tour with SYTYCD he joined forces with Ryan Higa... and started Thedominicshow a YouTube channel combining comedy and dance. Six other Youtubers joined with him in creating a group called YTF (Yesterday, Today, Forever). This group collaborated on videos and toured across the United States together creating a can base.

He was selected as the third judge on America's Best Dance Crew in 2011 and again in 2012; before the show was canceled that next year. He continues to grow in popularity and has almost two million subscribers on YouTube as of March 2014.
