Looking for Duplicate Scrabble?
Anyone else remember this? My wife and I play Scrabble on the app by passing my phone back and forth—we love it. Way back when the app was introduced (what, 8 years ago? maybe 10?) there was an option to play duplicate—and it was the BEST. Each player got the same tiles. Player 1 plays and passes the phone. The board is clear, and P2 puts their word down. Each player gets the points from their word, but only the best word remains on the board. Both of your tiles remain identical through the whole game. It is the only way to even the luck of the draw and earn total bragging rights!!!
Anyways, they ditched this option years ago in an update, and i stopped updating the app because now I don’t think they even allow pass and play anymore.
Anyone remember Duplicate and better yet, know where I can find it now? Thanks.
Build'n Play Solo Word Game (Apple App Store, Google Play Store) is what you are looking for: offline solo play or pass and play (up to 4 players for tablets, 3 for phones) for any scrabble-like game; classic scrabble or duplicate scrabble.
You are my hero!! This is pretty much it. Thank you thank you thank you!
Yeah. You'd have to side load it. Download it from APK mirror.
There are many, many situations in Scrabble where the "best" play is not the one scoring the most points. Stick to regular Scrabble and try and figure out why you are losing. It's probably not just bad luck.
Where in this post does the OP say they are losing? They say they are looking to play duplicate scrabble. What a strange answer - though glad you’re passionate about the game!
It has simply been my experience that those who complain about the luck of the draw are usually on the losing end of the scoresheet.
The other post in Reddit about duplicate scrabble is how it is the most popular way to play in France. I’ve played before and it’s tremendously fun - a great way for evenly matched regular players to go head to head, and a new take on the game for people who play a lot.
I don’t read any of what you’ve read into OPs post, as another person who tends to be at the top of the scoresheet.
