Idina Menzel Talks Newly Married Life to Aaron Lohr: 'He's My Guy'

Idina Menzel is loving married life.

The Broadway star opened up to PEOPLE about newlywed life with actor Aaron Lohr at the Disney/Pixar premiere of Coco in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.

“He’s my guy,” she said.

Menzel, 46, and Lohr, 41, tied the knot in September in an intimate backyard ceremony.

And while the actress said she’s loves being able to call Lohr her “husband,” the word family has also taken on a new meaning since their special day.

“Family, to me, means being able to be yourself, sit back on the couch and relax, and watch a movie with the people that know you better than anyone else in the world,” she said.

Menzel, who attended the premiere solo, said Lohr has developed a close bond with her eight-year-old son Walker.

“They’re very close,” she said. “They’re probably watching a film, or they run around play dodgeball with a sock, they make a ball out of socks and they hit each other.”

Menzel voices Frozen‘s Elsa in the Disney short Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, which will screen ahead of Coco.

Coco hits theaters Nov. 22.
