Cadbury World is a great day out with the whole family. Fun for the kids and great for the adults too. The history of the Cadburys is really interesting too.

I visited RAF Cosford Museum yesterday for My Birthday.
This was my second trip to the museum itself, so this is a review of that second experience.

I am a wheelchair user, so this is also solely based on my own personal experience and in the hope of encouraging other people with disabilities to visit.
As mentioned, I visited yesterday for my Birthday and I must admit, the entire place never ceases to amaze me.

There is so much to see and so much to do, learn and experience. A whole world of military vehicles ranging from Tanks to Helicopters to the Avro Lancaster Bomber - of which you can wander under to admire its sheer size - to name just a few of the things that capture your attention.
I have a particular interest in the “Space Race” and getting to spend a few moments in solitude to listen to, and watch videos of the Moon Landing, was a pretty special experience.

Perhaps most importantly to a person with a physical disability is access and, truly, access here is second to none.
I could freely wheel myself, or be wheeled, around the 2 hangars without obstructing anyone’s path and, equally, found my own way around unaided sometimes. A relaxing, informative way of doing things.

There is a spacious cafe that serves some wonderful food and drink. I came away from the cafe full on sandwiches, water and a cookie - all of which was filled with flavour. The staff here were brilliant, conversational and genuinely happy to have people in their establishment.

With regards to the staff around the Museum, I cannot thank them enough for their graciousness and professionalism.
From the moment of our arrival, we were met with staff and, in today’s world, being talked to as a person with a disability - rather than being talked at - just made that experience all the more remarkable.
Wheeling around the various parts of the museum, sometimes on my own, staff would ask me if I needed any assistance or would engage in conversation depending on what I was looking at, at the time.
I took a professional camera with me, not expecting to take many photos instead wanting to look and listen, but ended up taking over 80 different photos of everything in situ.

So, all in all, I cannot recommend RAF Cosford Museum (other names are applicable, but it’ll always be this to me) enough to anyone wanting to go.
A wonderful place filled with historical and important pieces, an incredible group of people who work hard to ensure each member of the public had an excellent time.

I would definitely like to return in the future.

Interesting museum - lots of cars and vehicles to see. Well laid out from early bikes to modern day - easy for kids to follow as we walked through and cars became more modern. Bloodhound/Thrust cars at the end really interesting too. Kids area to play with some toys, some interactive features on the way round. Toilets available at regular places on way round. Staff helpful and knowledgeable.

We had great seats, plenty of leg room. The staff were excellent and really looked after you. We bought some items there and the lady who served us was really lovely.

This was the third time I have been as find it to be one of the better aquariums we have been to. Brought the nephews with us this time.
Firstly want to say wat a fab chap the man with the long grey beard is. Not sure of name but was really keen to chat. And have noticed now another review mentioning him so clearly he loves his job!!!
Sadly the lady in the rock pools where u can touch a starfish was not so keen and looked miserable and seemed to roll eyes of asking questions…

We paid for the mission packs for the boys so they could do things. And they were so excited by the “top trumps” style cards and that you could collect others from the rangers (we had done this before years ago with my son when he was young too so was telling him all about it)
Sadly and disappointingly for the boys there wasn’t a single “ranger” to do this. There was plenty of sea life workers around and most didn’t even have a clue what we were on about!!! And no body had anything. So that was sad.
Then also they did the stamps on the way round and one was broken which also was disappointing for them as they were enjoying looking for them.

Amazing building, worth a visit. More than just a library, it has (at the moment) a tourist visit information desk on the ground floor, (very helpful), to the secret garden on the 7th floor, to the reconstructed 19th century Shakespeare room on the 9th floor.

Trip was a birthday present for our 7 year old grandson. 3 generations of Villa fans who all thoroughly enjoyed the tour.
Our guide, Keith, was outstanding. He successfully involved us all and was good company for the two hours we were there. Keith was very knowledgeable and illustrated the tour with a good balance of many interesting historical facts and humorous stories and personal anecdotes.

The Purveyors have a deep knowledge and genuine appreciation of the content of this museum, which is 2-tone/ska music. So many meaningful artifacts! Instruments, organs, even half a car. If you know who the Specials are, the (English) Beat, Selecter, et al then you need to visit. Very worthwhile.

What a wonderful, well maintained manor house. It is undergoing some restoration at the moment but that can't be helped. Furniture and fittings very well maintained and staff all seemed to be well informed and happy to share their knowledge of the house and grounds. Lovely tea room and the sponge cake was delicious.

INCREDIBLE is the word here for the NMM

I had been to the NMM many times before in the past and have always remembered my trips to the place with fond memories.

This time I went with a mission - to visually "take on board" some of the finer details of the machines on display, and in preparation had written to the curator, James Hewing with a few detailed questions regarding a Triumph restoration I have in hand. Not only did he reply straight away, he knew to pass on some of the more detailed questions to one of the Museum's fellow experts, who in turn replied straight away with answers I believe could probably only be found through experts in the marque.

    So, on to the visit...

There is something for everyone here, whether people are riders, restorers, individuals, families - a chance to marvel at the engineering of the 2 wheeled world and to marvel at the way the machines are displayed, preserved, and all the depth of knowledge behind them and the museum.

The Museum is so clean and well presented, everywhere from the Display Halls, to the shop and restaurant, the whole place cheerful and welcoming. The Car Parking was so easy too (especially as the only badge of honour I have nowadays is a "Blue Badge"!).

I had the good fortune to stop and chat to a gentleman by the name of Wesley rebuilding a 1950's Ariel by the turnstiles, and that made this trip memorable. It turns out both his father and son work for the Museum as restorers, and the depth of knowledge he had was on a different scale obtained through owning so many machines you could only wish to see, let alone own. He accompanied me to the part of the Museum of most interest to me on this occasion (Triumph) and helped me take an in depth look over all the areas on the bikes I needed to re my restoration. Wesley truly has the "best job in the world" and the Museum have the good fortune of the generations of the Wall family behind all on display.

Prior to the visit, I arranged to meet up with James as I wanted to thank him personally for his help, and he was such a really approachable person who made me feel my visit was a very welcome one. On the day he also offered me some really sound advice in possibly tracking down original owners of my machine - given we are talking over half a century ago, this is a tall ask BUT I have a direction now - a big thank you James!

All in all, a fantastic day out, AND as I mentioned before whether you are a rider, a restorers, whether you come as an individual or as families, on all levels you will not be disappointed...
