• Bachelorette Clare Crawley and Dale Moss have officially called it quits again, "for good," one source said.
  • They were first engaged for five months after meeting on the reality dating show.
  • "It was mutual," said another source, and the two have both spoken out about the split on Instagram.

Bachelor Nation watched the whirlwind romance of Clare Crawley and Dale Moss unfold on—and subsequently "blow up" The Bachelorette in season 16. But how is the reality TV couple doing IRL? Given how recent seasons have ended (*cough Pilot Pete's crash landing at ATFR cough*), the odds were kinda stacked against Clare and Dale making it after the cameras stop rolling.

A year has passed since Clare and Dale sailed off into the sunset and left The Bachelorette set with a sparkling Neil Lane rock on her finger. They got engaged after just four short episodes. (There's been some back and forth about how exactly that went down and production's role in Clare's abrupt exist, but that's the gist.) Based on the filming schedule, that all went down during summer 2020 and they've had some ups and downs ever since.

The massive question remains: Are Clare and Dale still together? There’s a lot of new info out there, so here's everything to know about their post-show romance.

Clare and Dale have called it quits "for good."

After a few rocky starts (and re-starts), Clare and Dale have officially broken up for the last time, a source told Page Six. “Dale and Clare have split again. This time it’s for good. It didn’t end well," the source said. Another insider confirmed that the split "was mutual," per People.

In a recent Instagram post, Clare said she wouldn't be commenting on the break-up. "I hate that I even have to say this, but in response to all the questions that are coming my way right now... I’m choosing not to speak right now on the details of my relationship, because at the end of the day anyone can put on an ACT or throw words together to form any narrative they want," she wrote in the caption.

Instead, Clare explained that she would be taking some time to care for her mother. "What I will speak on is emotionally and physically I’m going through a lot with healing from my recent surgery still, and my mother being placed on hospice care now. So my energy is focused on grieving, healing, and being present at home here in Sacramento while trying to share and help others going through similar life experiences as I’m sharing today," she continued.

"I am just thankful for the people in my life who offer genuine unconditional love with no personal gain, and stand by me through thick and thin. ESPECIALLY WHEN THE CAMERAS ARE OFF with no accolades. actions speak for themselves," Clare finished.

Friends and fans flooded the comments section with words of support. Bachelorette co-host Kaitlyn Bristowe left a "❤️," while actress Jennifer Love Hewitt wrote, "I’m so sorry mama. Sending you all my love and support. Here for anything you need." Another comment read, "Sorry to hear that Clare 😔 you’re incredibly strong and resilient! Thank you for continuing to be a voice 🤍 you will be in my prayers."

Clare's Instagram post also sparked fan rumors that current Bachelor in Paradise contestant Abigail Heringer may have had something to do with the break-up. Fan account @bachelorettewindmill noticed that Clare tagged Abigail and then untagged her in the post—and the two don't seem to follow each other.

But it's more likely that the two just didn't see eye to eye, a source told Us Weekly. “They have different visions and wedding planning wasn’t happening which made Clare really upset. She wants to be in Sacramento to be close to her family, especially her mom who isn’t well. Dale wants to remain in NY. They will still support each other and have love for each other no matter what.”

Clare and Dale got engaged (again).

That's right—the two got engaged for a second time in July, a source told Us Weekly. "They’re engaged but still are working on building a solid relationship," the source said. "They’ve discussed future plans but aren’t necessarily wedding planning. They aren’t rushing to tie the knot."

The couple was in "a much better place than where they were months ago," the source told Us Weekly. "They have plans to travel this summer. She still has her home in Sacramento. Sacramento will always be home to her and she’ll be in California a lot still since she still takes care of her mom and her sisters live there."

Clare posted an adorable anniversary photo on Instagram to celebrate: "Happy 4th of July🎆!!!" she wrote in the caption. "This exact day/time last year I was packing my car and heading out solo to Palm Springs… What a difference a year makes!"

Dale responded with what might be the cutest Instagram comment ever: "Almost a year ago today I was able to hold you in my arms for the first time ❤️."

Dale and Clare made their reunion official on Instagram (stories) in April.

During February and March, savvy fans spotted signs of Dale in Clare's photos and vice versa. They weren't really fooling anyone, but they also hadn't shared official "back together" snaps... until April.

Dale shared a mirror selfie with Clare and tagged her on Instagram stories. They're both wearing masks, but it's clear who's in the pic. "Selfie skills on 💯," he captioned the photo.

Dale and Clare split up in January... but reunited in February.

Weeks after an insider source told Page Six the former couple were "done," Dale and Clare were spotted walking down the street together and reportedly holding hands in Venice, Florida on Tuesday, Feb. 16, according to Bachelor spoilers blogger Reality Steve.

He shared photos and a video of the former Bachelorette and contestant on Twitter, writing, "(UPDATE): Clare and Dale together in Venice, Florida today."

However, an Us Weekly insider wasn’t convinced things between them were romantic. "It wasn’t anything out of the ordinary…They looked more like they were friends," the source told the publication. "They were smiling and enjoying each other’s company, but it wasn’t like they were all over each other."

But later that day, the exes were spotted having drinks at Nokomo’s Sunset Hut in Nokomis, Florida. "They were just hanging out, having a couple drinks," an eyewitness source told Us Weekly, adding that they didn’t appear romantic. "It was just the two of them. They were laying low and people kind of left them alone."

The sighting got plenty of attention on social media, and Clare already took on some trolls who told her to "Ughh give it up already! No one cares!" in the comments of an Instagram video she shared on Wednesday.

"Clearly you do 💁," Clare replied.

To add even more intrigue to the situation, Dale posted a pic to his Insta, with the caption that he has "a lot to smile about lately." Of course, that leaves fans wondering if that's a hint he's back together with Clare.

This all comes on the heels of an Instagram Live Dale did on Jan. 30, during which he got super emotional while talking about their breakup.

"This has f*cking rocked me," he said, per Us Weekly. "I felt so many emotions, so much guilt, but also so much confusion, so much hurt, and I know that we both have. And looking for so many answers before this even happened on how to make things better. But the reality of it is, life isn’t perfect. And we make mistakes. I’ve made a lot of them, I know we all do. My pops would always say you gotta hurt before you heal. I’ve been f*cking hurting. A lot."

Dale also added he didn’t know if he made the right decision in calling off their engagement. "F*ck my heart was just f*cking heavy, especially the last week. And at the end of the day, I think we all try to do the best that we can and make the best decisions that we think at the time. It doesn’t mean it’s always the right one," he said in the video "...I know she has been f*cking going through it. And whatever the case, I know that we will figure this out together, whatever it is."

Dale and Clare opened up about their split on social media.

Separately, Dale and Clare have shared what they've been going through on Instagram.

Dale first confirmed their breakup on Jan. 19. He wrote: "I wanted share with you all that Clare and I have decided to go our separate ways. We appreciate the love and support we’ve received from so many people, but this is the healthiest decision for both of us at this time.

We strongly believe in leading with love and always remaining true to oneself - something our families have taught and instilled in us throughout our lives. We only hope the best things for one another."

Dale shared in Instagram stories: "I finally feel comfortable getting on here after having some time to process everything that's gone on. I know a lot of y'all have seen me smiling on social media and say I don't seem as hurt or burdened by this, but that's the farthest thing. This time has sucked."

He continued: "Building a relationship, in general, is tough, especially when you're doing it in the public eye. Media will take things and run with them. People will spread lies or always want to point the finger. But the fact of the matter is, there's no one person to blame in this situation."

Clare later shared her own post on Jan. 21 writing: "Speaking for myself, my intentions with this relationship have always been very clear, so the truth is I am crushed. This was not what I expected or hoped for..."

She continued: "Our relationship was not perfect but I can say I was genuinely invested with all of my heart."

The source explained to Page Six that "there’s a whole bunch of problems between [Clare and Dale]." While the source didn't "know what the specific breaking point was," they revealed that Clare wanted Dale to move to Sacramento, and he was less than thrilled about it. She also wants to have kids right away, and he doesn’t, per the source.

Clare and Dale rang in 2021 together.

They posed with Happy New Year hats, noisemakers, and her dogs in an adorable video.

But, their 'ship didn't last much longer.

Clare added another ring on that finger in December.

In an Instagram Story shared on Dec. 7, Clare talked about asking fans to donate blankets for her local animal shelter and how happy she was about hundreds of donations she received. Awesome, right? Go Clare!

But when you look closely at that finger, you can see that she has a second ring underneath her engagement ring…which usually would be a wedding band.

Dale debuted some new jewelry of his own in November.

If you're thinking wedding ring, you're getting a few steps ahead. Dale showed off an arm party of bracelets in his Instagram stories on Nov. 16. One had the letters C and D with a heart. The other brightly colored bangle spelled out "Zaddy."

Are the new accessories a way to feel connected while apart? Clare returned to Cali and Dale to New York City in November, but were reunited when...

Dale and Clare celebrated Thanksgiving together.

Clare shared the info on Instagram in early December alongside a sweet snap of the two cuddling. "Take me back to Thanksgiving! I want the 8 hour roadtrip to
@lajollabeachfronthome singing at the top of our lungs, the 7pm bedtime with Christmas movies, the salty air, and most importantly time together with loved ones ❤️," she wrote in the caption.

Dale talked about his dad, his family, and his faith in his own Thanksgiving post, but didn’t mention Clare by name. Does that matter? IDK.

I mean, he did share this cute video of the couple gearing up for what seemed to be the aforementioned Thanksgiving road trip on Nov. 22.

But Clare also shared an Instagram post that said she’s "going through things."

Clare posted a pic of herself hanging out on a bench, wearing a hoodie, but it was what she wrote in the caption that got people talking. "Hi. It’s me, Clare. Not Clare that you have seen edited on your television or social media squares. But the human one with feelings, insecurities, emotions, and a normal life just like you," she wrote. "And just like you, I’m going through things, big and small, that all of us experience at some point or another."

Clare also wrote that she has "good days and bad days," adding that "being on reality TV doesn’t exempt me (or any of us) from that. I will always do my best to rise above the negativity and find the positive, but I am not superhuman."

It's unclear if the "things, big and small" she references has anything to do with Dale, or if it's more with the pressure of dealing with fan reactions after a decidedly controversial Bachelorette season.

The couple shared the cutest engagement photos.

Even when they were apart, she in California and he in New York, they shared adorable snaps together on Instagram. Dale captioned his post, "I got you @clarecrawley."

Clare added another shot with the caption: "You are pure magic baby ✨my comfort, my warmth, and my safest place ❤️."

Their photographer, Dan Eisenhauer, shared more pics from the snowy shoot. Dale replied, "Meant a lot that you could capture this memory of us together brotha!"

Clare and Dale visited his hometown in South Dakota.

As of mid-November, they were looking so very cozy. They toured Dale's hometown, and he introduced her to chilly weather, his old house, his high school, and more in Sioux Falls.

"I guess you would call this the official hometown [date]," Clare shares in another quick Instagram stories clip from the car.

Dale laughed along as Clare came to grips with the cooler temps. She's definitely not in Cali anymore.

"That was the quickest tour ever," Clare tells the camera while snuggling on a couch with Dale.

Earlier in November, they explored Clare's hometown and California.

Dale and Clare's post-show tour started in California. He captioned a cute video filmed in the car: "This is everything 😂 . Finally the VIP Tour of Sacramento! #Hometown."

The couple also grabbed a "first coffee" together and shared adorable video evidence of together time.

Clare and Dale also let everyone know they're planning to buy a house and move in together in an Instagram Live on Nov. 5, immediately after their engagement aired. "We went house hunting the other day," Clare said.

Bachelor Nation has weighed in.

Chris Harrison, for one, supports Clare and Dale. "There is nothing that Clare has done that deserves anger and for her to be vilified," he told The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast. "Why are you mad that this woman found the love of her life and got engaged? I just want to ask everybody to have a little bit of grace and understanding, and also support Tayshia as the new Bachelorette."

Former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay told Us Weekly that Clare probably spent more time with Dale than Rachel did with her now-husband, Bryan Abasolo, before they got engaged on the show. "If you look at [Bachelor in] Paradise, people fall in love with the same amount of time. And I’ll be honest, Clare spent more time with Dale than I probably spent with Bryan before he got down on one knee," she said. "And even in talking to Clare and Dale off-camera, they said that their time with each other was insane, like that group date we saw where he was gone so long with Clare? That’s not the only time that had happened. So they got to spend a lot of time together. I think producers recognize that Clare was really into Dale and wanted to give her a fair chance to see if this is something that could work."

Former Bachelorette star DeAnna Pappas also recently spoke out about the couple on The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast, and she strongly implied that Dale and Clare are still going strong.

"What I encouraged both of them to do is definitely enjoy the ride, take the opportunities because they’ll forever change the way their lives go and to love it and enjoy it but also to nurture and take care of what they have," she said. "So, I think that would make [Clare] so happy just to be in Sacramento and live her life and live her love story with Dale and she’s totally fine with that. She’s waited a really long time."

But former Bachelor contestant Bekah Martinez says she feels like the whole thing was forced. "It just felt like there was a lot of spinning of what happened to make her [leave]," she told Us Weekly. "I mean, it was just so obvious as a viewer at the very end that the two of them were almost coerced into getting engaged. It seems like they really love each other, but that was bizarre, and I would be really upset as a lead."
