Venezuela are a part of Group B in the upcoming tournament

Venezuela announced their provisional squad for the Copa America 2024. Venezuela are selecting the players it intends to bring to the US, despite the fact that the competition is more than a month away. There are 47 players on the preliminary roster. Less than what the 16 teams can submit for their starting roster, that is. A preliminary list of 55 players will be considered for the competition this summer, according to CONMEBOL.

Venezuela will have to reduce this team to 23 players by the event. Nations are usually free to choose how many players represent each position, although three of those must be goalkeepers.

Venezuela on Tuesday released a 47-man provisional roster that included five goalkeepers, fourteen defenders, twenty-one midfielders, and seven strikers.

This team has the opportunity to play in a place that four of the players are familiar with. Major League Soccer players include Josef Martinez, Daniel Pereira, Jesus Andres Martinez, and Jesus Bueno. Martinez has played for two teams that are hosting tournament games: Atlanta United and Inter Miami. He currently plays for CF Montreal in Canada.

But the majority of Venezuela’s team is foreign-born. There are just five players from Venezuela’s football league. Brazil, which has eight players, is the most attractive competition for these guys. At the club level, Venezuelan footballers represent a total of fifteen different countries.

The majority of the players in Venezuela’s first roster have participated for the team in the current 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign. Venezuela have been one of the most dramatic tales in South America so far, and it is only one-third of the way through.

The team is currently sitting fourth out of the ten qualifying teams with nine points after six games. Among the team’s noteworthy performances were a tie away to Brazil and a commanding three-point victory against Chile at home.
