As the much-anticipated premiere of The Umbrella Academy season 4 draws nearer, a sneak peek has been revealed. Two new images have been released, showcasing the returning Hargreeves siblings in this final chapter of their story.

As previously announced, Season 4 will mark the conclusion of this beloved series. The upcoming installment will follow the familiar pattern of previous seasons, opening with the Hargreeves superhero family attempting to navigate yet another unfamiliar reality. This time, the team finds themselves in a newly reset timeline after narrowly escaping the destructive Kugelblitz. Thanks to Sir Reginald's reprogramming of the interdimensional machine, the universe has been restored, and the Umbrella Academy members are healed from their injuries. However, they have unexpectedly lost their powers in the process.

These newly released images by Entertainment Weekly offer a closer look at how the siblings are adapting to this unexpected turn of events. In the first image, the siblings are assembled beside a dilapidated van named Wanda, owned by Diego played by David Castañeda, seemingly in a tense standoff with Lila Ritu Arya. Curiously, Cha-Cha's iconic pink mask from season 1 lies discarded on the roadside among various other items. Another image captures Viktor, played by Elliot Page, wide-eyed and looking in the distance in a state of shock.

The Umbrella Academy Will Conclude With Season 4

Based on Gerard Way's comic series, The Umbrella Academy premiered on Netflix in 2019 and follows a group of estranged, superpowered siblings who reunite after their father's death. The last season ended with a major twist: a new timeline orchestrated by their family patriarch, Reginald, played by Colm Feore, where the siblings no longer possess their powers. This timeline presents higher stakes than ever, with new enemies determined to erase them from existence. But how can they fight back without their powers? Will they ever regain them?

Episode 1 of the new season, "The Unbearable Tragedy of Getting What You Want," introduces Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman as Dr. Jean and Gene Thibedeau, a seemingly mild-mannered Midwestern couple who are willing to pay $5,000 for a VHS tape of one of Allison’s movies, Love on Loan. It is unclear based on the released script if they are simply eccentric collectors or is there more to their story.

The Hargreeveses are coming together for what is being built as another timeline-shifting finale which will be released on August 8 on Netflix.
