Kevin Bacon’s Family Celebrates 44th Anniversary Of “Friday The 13th” Release With A Fitting Prank

Kevin Bacon

It’s been 44 years since Friday the 13th first terrified audiences, so Kevin Bacon’s family celebrated accordingly.

The slasher film hit theaters on Thursday, May 9, 1980, and went on to become one of the most legendary horror franchises in cinematic history. The story follows the ill-fated summer of counselors at Camp Crystal Lake. A young Kevin played one of those camp counselors.

Friday the 13th was one of Kevin Bacon’s first movies, and it helped him become one of Hollywood’s most popular stars. So, when the film’s anniversary came around, his wife, Kyra Sedgwick, and his kids, Sosie and Travis, had to pay tribute.

Kevin posted a video of the prank on his Instagram page. It showed him sleeping on his couch—trying to enjoy a peaceful afternoon nap. His family decided that his peaceful state gave them the perfect opportunity to give him a little jump scare like his character, Jack, got before he sadly met his end in the movie.

Kevin Bacon Can’t Get Any Peace

As the video continues, Kyra, Sosie, and Travis sneak up on him carrying a bloody arrow. Travis gently places it on his chest, and all three of them crouch behind the couch.

Kyra makes the iconic Friday the 13th breath sound until it pulls Kevin Bacon from his slumber. He looks down, sees the arrow, and jumps straight up. His wife and kids jump up and scream at the same time.

“Okay, not funny, guys,” Kevin says, unamused.

“Relax, it’s Thursday,” Travis responds nonchalantly as he walks away.

“That was a close one,” Kevin captioned. “44 years since Friday the 13th, and I still can’t take a nap in peace.”

“Thank you Kevin and the rest of you….its my favourite movie of all time (54years old😂),” a fan wrote. “And I’ve been waiting for you to do more Friday sh**…..lovvvvve this….lovvvve you!❤️🫶”
