The reigning Egyptian Premier League champions, Ahly, have made key signings during the summer transfer window in their attempt to retain the title.

Meanwhile, Pyramids FC, the runners-up, have also made significant additions in their quest for their first-ever championship.

On the other hand, Zamalek, who faced a FIFA-imposed transfer ban this season, have refrained from making any new signings.

Ahmed Kendouci (Cleopatra FC)

The Algerian midfielder is anticipated to shine with Cleopatra FC this season if given enough playing time as he failed to make an impact at Ahly.

Kendouci joined Ahly in January 2023 but couldn't secure a starting role under coach Marcel Koller last season. Despite making 11 starts in 21 appearances for Ahly, his limited playing time and the team's pursuit of a foreign striker meant Kendouci had to depart.

The 24-yer old midfielder had been a key figure for Algeria's local-based national team that ended runners-up in the 2023 African Championship.

He would be looking to rediscover his form in his season-long loan deal at Ceramica Cleopatra.

Anthony Modeste (Ahly)

Anthony Modeste, who has been a free agent since leaving Borussia Dortmund in June, is considered as one of the highest profiles in the Egyptian League this season.

With 16 years of experience at the highest level, primarily in the Bundesliga and French Ligue 1, he possesses a proven goal-scoring record.

Modeste's arrival fills a void that has plagued Ahly for the past year, particularly the lack of firepower up front.

The 35-year old striker is expected to make his debut against Masry on Tuesday carrying high hopes from the fans.

Baher El-Mohamady (Masry)

The former Ismaily skipper joined Masry this summer after his EGP 20 million release clause was activated.

The 26-year old defender has been one of the most distinguished players in Egyptian football over the past years and will provide composure and strength to Masry's backline.

He can play in the centre, on the right flank or as a defensive midfielder.

Throughout the 2022/2023 season, El-Mohamady, who has also represented the Egyptian national team, made 30 appearances across various competitions for Ismaily, scoring two goals.

Although he initially joined Ismaily's senior team in 2015, he was loaned out to Zamalek for a season without featuring in any matches for the White Knights.

Emam Ashour (Ahly)

After failing to settle in Denmark, Ashour made headlines by joining Ahly, the arch-rivals of his previous club, Zamalek.

he Egyptian midfielder joined Ahly after a brief spell in Denmark with FC Midtjylland, where he made seven appearances before suffering a severe injury.

Ashour is expected to be a significant addition to the Red Devils' squad in midfield, thanks to his talent and powerful strikes.

The talented midfielder rose to stardom with the White Knights since joining them in 2019, playing a crucial role in securing back-to-back titles in 2021 and 2022.

Fiston Mayele (Pyramids FC)

Congolese striker Fiston Mayele, who signed a three-year contract with Pyramids FC, is a valuable addition to the club.

The 29-year old's career took a remarkable turn when he joined the Tanzanian club Young Africans in 2021, showcasing impressive performances and goal-scoring abilities.

In the previous season, he scored 14 goals in African competitions: seven in the CAF Champions League and seven in the Confederation Cup.

With Ramadan Sobhi, Mostafa Fathi, and Abdallah El Said operating behind him, Mayele will have no shortage of quality supply lines.

Ibrahim Hassan (NBE Club)

The Egyptian veteran winger left Ittihad of Alexandria this summer to join NBE.

The financial details of the transfer were not disclosed. Hassan, who previously played for Ismaily, Zamalek, and Pyramids FC, has amassed an impressive record in the Egyptian Premier League.

With 271 appearances, he has scored 29 goals and provided 51 assists.

Hassan has also showcased his abilities on the continental stage, playing 27 games in the CAF Confederation Cup for Pyramids FC and Zamalek, scoring five goals and providing two assists.

Mahmoud Saber (ZED FC)

Saber, a talented attacking midfielder, joined ZED FC for the upcoming season of the Egyptian Premier League.

The 22-year old midfielder made a huge impact with Egypt U-23 leading them to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and finishing runners-up in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The newly promoted club secured Saber's services on loan from Pyramids FC. Saber began his career with Nogoom FC before his move to Pyramids FC in the 2021 season.

Saber has so far made 55 appearances across both clubs, scoring six goals and providing 11 assists.

Mohamed Reda "Bobo" (Pyramids FC)

Bobo moved to Pyramids FC this summer after an impressive season with Modern Future FC. A skilled midfielder who makes notable contributions at both ends of the pitch.

He has been a major target for several clubs in the summer but Pyramids FC were able to clinch him in a mega-deal with Modern Future FC that also included Mohanad Lasheen and Mahmoud Marei.

The 23-year old earned his first call up to the Egyptian national team in June 2023, appearing as a substitute in a friendly against South Sudan.

His arrival at Pyramids FC raises the team's hopes to compete successfully for the Egyptian Premier League title and the CAF Champions League.

Reda Selim (Ahly)

Reda Selim joined the Egyptian side Ahly from FAR Rabat. Since his debut with the team in the African Super Cup, Selim has caught the eyes of the fans with his skills and pace.

Last season, Selim played a crucial role in helping FAR Rabat win the Moroccan league title, their first since 2008, scoring 11 goals and receiving credit for 10 assists.

Selim played 114 matches for FAR Rabat throughout his career, scoring 32 goals and providing 26 assists across all competitions.

Salah Basha (Pharco FC)

Salah Basha, the captain of Egypt's Under-20 team, recently joined Pharco FC from Italian Serie C club Giugliano.

The 20-year-old striker, who previously played for Udinese's Under-19 team, moved to Pharco on the last day of the summer transfer window in Egypt.

Basha's time at Giugliano was hindered by injury, limiting him to just one appearance and causing him to miss several matches.

He also suffered a muscular injury that prevented him from participating in the 2023 Africa Under-20 Cup of Nations, which saw the elimination of Egypt in the group stage.

Before moving to Giugliano, Basha had an impressive record with Udinese's youth team, scoring 34 goals and receiving credit for seven assists in 71 appearances.
