I'm still feeling nervous, FFS. I know the debate and conversation has been done to death, and this isn't the point of the Fred, but I genuinely don't care if we get promoted to the Prem or not, purely from a fans POV.

However, I'm still nervous and excited about tonight. It's been a long while since I felt like this. Funny how the long term result has little impact on the short term feelings. I bloody love this club and ultimately I want us in big games and to win those big games, regardless of the farcical and corrupt nature of the highest level we can reach.

This is what football is all about. Something that billionaire owners shouldn't be allowed to buy, but here we are.

If we win I'll be ecstatic and buzzing for a Wembley final, if we lose, I'll be down and gutted, even if I don't care about being in the Greedy League.

Football, why do we bother, eh?

Have to say I'm not nervous in the slightest, wasn't for the first game until it actually kicked off. I'm sure I'll be the same again later.

Promotion would serve to really secure the mid-term future of the club, we're not in a position to go up and challenge for anything so in that regard it doesn't hold the same feeling for me. If we lose tonight, of back Carlos to lead us to a similar position again next year so it feels like a complete free hit.

As with the Leeds game last night, all of the pressure from an expectation and financial points of view is on the home team, up to them to see if they can handle it.

Think I’m at healthy nerves level. I’d love a 33000 Albion day out next Sunday at this moment in time. COYB

I think my 5 years away from attending games and committing so much of my free time to supporting the team has numbed my emotions to it.

I have woke up feeling 'nervous' but I think that is more to do with the fact it's supper club weekend and I have 30 folk coming for 8 courses of Caribbean food that I am yet to prep.

I will have the game on during 'service' tonight and I will be cheering them on. I think the ambivalence towards it comes from me not caring too much whether or not we play in the Prem. I would love us to go up, mainly so Patel gets his rewards and it presses the reset button on all the clubs concerns. But if we don't, I look forward to seeing the progress the club can make regardless.

Going from nearly going bust with 2 weeks to spare under that horrible weasel lai and getting taken over by shilen Patel this season is a winner already.

It's a minor miracle that we are in a position we are one game from Wembley with a team that hasn’t spent a penny in over 12 months , no reconised striker for over 12 months due to long term injuries and Assante who came from Salford who has led the line .

We have the best manager in the championship who was under bielsa and truly a miracle worker under circumstances not in his control .

Tonight is a free hit for us of course we want to win but if not its not a big deal .

Same. Nervous, and desperately want us to win, same as I would if we were playing Rotherham on a Tuesday night though.
Would absolutely love a trip to Wembley, especially against Leeds, that would be some atmosphere!

It is, however, the epitome of a free hit. Having over achieved already, coupled with the expulsion of Lai, this season has been a success and, hopefully, will be pivotal to our future. Hope more than expectation for tonight, Saints are ahead of us in terms of quality, but we have Carlos, so, who knows. No tears if we lose, maybe a few if we win!

Great post SB. I'm up in Geordie land trying my best to ignore it, I probably won't even watch it, and will try to only check the score at half and full time.

Despite all that, I'll still be upset by a loss...

My expectations are low to say the least, but a loss is still gonna upset my weekend for sure. Of course if we sneak through, then I'll go through it all again with Leeds.

Come on you Baggies.

Crikey - I thought I was getting bragging rights this weekend.  I'm doing BBQ lunch and tea for 20 family.

Pulled Pork (3 blends), Brisket, wings (4 ways), burgers and sausages for the kids, plain smoked chicken for the olds.  Sides, obvs.
