Prince Harry suffers second blow as King Charles gives William command of old Army unit

Prince Harry has announced he won't be meeting with King Charles while he's in London and he's now been dealt a second blow as Prince William has been given a new role

King Charles has snubbed Prince Harry

Prince Harry won't be meeting with King Charles this week and he's now been dealt a fresh blow as Prince William has been appointed Colonel-in-Chief of his old Army unit.

The Duke of Sussex has returned to London for an event celebrating the Invictus Games, but he won't see his father amid the monarch's "full programme". A spokesman for Harry said he hopes to see the King soon.

Amid the snub, Harry's brother William has been appointed Colonel-in-Chief representing the Army Air Corps, in which Harry served as an Apache helicopter pilot. Harry served in the Army between September 2012 and January 2013.

Harry may have one day hoped to be given William's new title, but he was stripped of his honorary military appointments after leaving the Royal Family. He and Meghan Markle stepped down as senior royals in 2020 before moving to America.

With Harry currently in London, it had been rumoured that he would reunite with his cancer-stricken father. However, a spokesman for the Duke of Sussex said: "It, unfortunately, will not be possible due to His Majesty's full programme.

"The Duke of course is understanding of his father's diary of commitments and various other priorities." Instead, Harry will attend a service at St Paul's Cathedral tonight to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.
