Downing Postgraduates showcase research at annual conference

The Downing College Postgraduate Conference took place on Saturday 11 May 2024.

This annual conference, which started in 2019, allows current Downing Postgraduates to present their research to an interested audience of students, Fellows and alumni.

Fourteen Postgraduates shared their work at this year's conference, which was divided into four sessions. The first session focused on biochemistry and medical sciences, the second on literature and linguistics, the third on social sciences and the fourth on ecology and environment.

A full list of this year's speakers and outlines of their talks is available to read.

MCR Vice President and conference co-organiser Chara Triantafyllidou said: "It is always exciting to bring students, fellows, and alumni together on this occasion of knowledge-sharing across disciplines.

"I would like to express my gratitude to Dr Paul Millett, MCR Liaison Fellow, for his unwavering support and involvement in the planning of the conference, as well as to the MCR Welfare and Education Officers, Yin Yuan and Cheri Au, without whom the conference and seminar nights would not have been possible.

"This conference is always very much a group effort and I am delighted to be part of the team this year. I am looking forward to the next one."
