Inter Milan are ready to make Genoa an offer to sign forward Albert Gudmundsson soon.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper anticipate that the Nerazzurri want to sign Gudmundsson on an initial loan with a purchase oblgiation.

Inter’s interest in Gudmundsson is certainly no secret at this stage.

The rumours have been floating around about the Nerazzurri wanting to sign the 26-year-old Genoa forward for weeks now.

Reportedly, Inter see Gudmundsson as having the ideal characteristics to complete their attack. They are seeking a player who is adept at dribbling in tight spaces.

But the question has always been whether or not a move for the Icelandic international would be feasible for Inter.

And according to the Gazzetta, the Nerazzurri are now ready to put that to the test.

Inter Milan Ready To Make Genoa An Offer For Albert Gudmundsson

According to the Gazzetta, a new loan from US fund PIMCO to Inter owners Suning will be the turning point.

That will finally give decisive clarity on the immediate future of Inter’s ownership and financial situation.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri can actually establish firm transfer plans. And they can get moving on them.

Among the first orders of business will be initiating a move for Genoa forward Gudmundsson.

Inter know that there are several other clubs keen on signing the 26-year-old.

And moreover, Gudmundsson won’t come cheap. Genoa reportedly want 30-35 million for the former AZ Alkmaar man.

That is no small investment for Inter considering their financial situation.

However, the Nerazzurri have a plan to try and bring a deal for Gudmundsson within their reach financially.

Inter will aim to make a similar offer to that which saw them sign Davide Frattesi from Sassuolo last summer.

In other words, an initial paid loan deal with an obligation to sign the player permanently.

And then beyond that, the Gazzetta note, Inter could also try to chip away at the cash value of a deal for Gudmundsson by offering a player as part of their bid.

One possibility in that respect would be wingback Mattia Zanotti. Inter value the 21-year-old at around 3-4 million.

Meanwhile, striker Martin Satriano would be valued at around 7 million in a deal.

And the Gazzetta also name teenage striker Francesco Pio Esposito as a player who could go to Genoa as part of a deal for Gudmundsson.
