Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We arrived at the Fram Museum via a harbor water taxi. The museum is awesome for those who are interested in historic polar exploration to the North and South Poles (and even those who are not familiar with polar exploration). The Fram can be boarded on its main deck and you can explore the lower two decks to understand the living conditions of the crew. Surrounding the ship is a three story walkway the flows with the history of Norwegian exploration and explorers. A wonderful way to spend 2 -3 hours in Oslo.

Beautiful place. Loved the statues, so much life in each. Fascinating work of Gustav Vigeland. I would recommend to allow 3-4 hours, unfortunately we had less than 2h for it and didn’t get to see all of the attractions

Takes 20-30 mins overall time to climb slowly up to the roof and take in the views all around. Be careful while waling as suddenly you can come across steps that are not clearly marked or visible on the sloping part.

I highly recommend for all kinds of travelers. Worth it! You can buy tickets online and I recommend doing this. You’ll need to wear good shoes for this place as well. Plan on spending a minimum of 3-4 hours.

Included in Oslo pass, this is worth checking out, especially in conjunction with touring the park next door. A lot of the work here seems to be workups and models of the future sculptures you will find in the park. We were here on a Saturday afternoon and we were the only people in the entire museum. The entire museum can easily be seen in less than an hour.

Because this is a viking country you must is it this museum. It small and pricey but still worth it. There are well preserved ships from ancient times and even realistic ones as though you are actually in a ship. Don't miss this one even if you are not a lover of museums.

First thing to say is it is a much much further walk than described from the station and if you have anyone considering it who is unfit, struggles with uphill walking or small children, DO NOT GO! It is also misleading as to where it is and not very well sign-posted. Firstly we went to something that wasn’t open, then up a steep gravel path which only took us to the bottom of the slope. (This took 15 minutes up hill walking) The actual entrance is another 10-15 minute walk around a long path or up very very steep steps on the side of the jump! Having said all of that, once there, very well done and the views and experience very good. I am not sure that it would be quite the same in peak season though as it would be very crowded and long queues for the lift.

We took the opportunity to take this tour from our cruise ship and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
The rising sides of the Fjord were amazing.

The National Museum has loads to see. You can spends many hours here. If just going for a "walk through", it will take you 60-90 minutes. You do get to see one of the versions of "The Scream". Well worth a longer visit.

This is a wonderful park open (and free!) to the public. The park contains numerous sculptures by the famous sculptor Gustav Vigeland and it’s truly awe inspiring to see these lifelike sculptures made of stone. On a sunny day you’ll find the park filled with locals taking advantage of the nice weather. The park is used for all kinds of recreational activities ranging from working out, dog walking, picnics, concerts, birthday celebrations, playing games, bird watching, etc.
It’s very easy to get here from Oslo Central station either by tram, bus or subway (or simply by walking the few kilometers through the beautiful neighborhoods).
In addition to the sculptures, the park contains cafeterias, tennis courts, a huge play ground for kids and swimming pools (extra cost).

Nice place to wander and see and take photos but unfortunately tours in English are only on weekends. So plan accordingly.

But it is free to visit
