I’ve been waffling on spending the money but I really love the theme with the sinister pack. Kudos! Your castle is amazing.
The actual endgame content, looks great and I’m definitely stealing some ideas
For those that prefer a quick video, you can check it here : https://streamable.com/m3q9ya (Although it's lower quality)
Holy hell, all that room. Meanwhile I'm trying to squeeze crafting stations into 4x4 tile rooms XD. I try to even have a front garden and foyer with a twin staircase and barely have enough room. I need more land XD
I do wish more of the plots in the game were a bit bigger. Having a decent sized courtyard/garden isn't really a thing you can do on most plots without having to just have a straight up tower or massively overhanging on higher floors.
Absolutely stunning castle! Do you normally have 1 zone for your castle and the other for gardening? Any gardening tips? Just got the game 3 days after the 1.0 release, and I'm absolutely thrilled with the game.
I try to envision what I want to do when laying down the foundations. In that case, I started with the right castle, and stopped right there where I though it would be a nice space for the upcoming garden.
Then while I was working on the main castle, I needed some stuff to process resources (I used the castle relocation feature to move in here), so I did that in a dedicated spot which would later become the 2nd castle on the left !
After pretty much being satisfied with the right side, I saw that I wouldn't be able to fit all of my functional rooms so the left part quickly became 3 floors tall and I connected the two parts with the bridge. Then my initial garden spot was a bit too small to I decided it would simply be an inner garden and voilà, add some style here and there and it became what it is now.
For garden, it is quite underwhelming actually. I wish I had more decorations for it. I would have wanted scarecrows, flowers, and stuff like that but even with all the recipes unlocked, the options are fairly limited to a few garden tables, some benches, lights and the herb parts.
The only thing that stops me from following suit, "oh FFS where's me stuffs?"
Mostly my castle's form follows function.
Well I haven't really shown the TPs but overall the secondary part of the castle (the left aisle) contains pretty much all of the crafting part while the right one is more of a presentation one. My chest and tps are in the right one though
Ah, the "shed". I didn't realise you can have more than one thrones lying around.
And whilst I do entertain the same idea, the walking speed in this game is killing me. Fine as combat mechanic, painful for exploring.
Do things get better later game?
First of all, if you are not playing on a PvP server but more on a PvE / solo environment, I recommend A LOT to change the server settings (if you can of course) to allow using the teleportation gates even with ressources. It will save a lot of travel time and imo is warranted for a PvP environment only.
Then, you have options to manage better travel yes.
The wolf form is decent early game and for short distances overall.
If you go to Dunley (central area), you can have access to horses. Using your dodge and counters, you can easily sneak in from the lower levels to get one. Horse is really convenient. I strongly suggest using the auto-walk hotkey so that you can gallop and turn only using your camera with mouse right click. Be mindful to check the stats of your horse by opening your inventory on it and feed it grass regularly to keep it alive.
Quite early in the game, you also get access to the wrangler potion, making your horse go 15% faster, it's cheap and should be up 100% of the time for the rest of the game. If you didn't set up a garden with growing plot for herbs, then this should be a good reason to setup one. Same for blood rose heals to be honest, it's really neat to avoid wasting good blood and progress faster overall on bosses.
End of mid game / start of end game, you get the Domineering Mount capacity, which allows you to have and summon an immortal mount basically. You can also craft a saddle to boost its stats. It also gets the same space bar ability as the wolf, so traversing terrain / dodging damage is very neat (this is for you Silverlight riflemen).
And quite endgame, you unlock the bat form but really, on PvP settings it's quite restricted and therefore not that good for basic movement overall. Imo it's more for quick raiding to get potential PvP targets (can't go into bat form with ressources, soul shards and very vulnerable to sun as well).
