For the past 133 years, The Browning School has been committed to providing boys in Kindergarten through Grade 12 the skills, the awareness, and the courage to navigate the complex developmental moments that will come to define them as men. Our faculty promote a love of learning and nurture the growth of each student through a vigorous academic program and exposure to a broad range of challenges and opportunities. In our uncommonly warm, inviting, and intimate school on East 62nd Street, Browning students become inquisitive and thoughtful scholars, as well as empathic and ethical leaders and citizens who reflect a diverse range of backgrounds, talents, and interests.

A solid boys school with a strong sense of community and care. The small size is a plus as a lower and middle school student and glad to see they are expanding facilities to offer the upper school boys a broader curricula and new classrooms and learning spaces. A hidden gem!
Browning is an incredible, close-knit school. Our son is thriving with caring, thoughtful teachers and a rigorous academic environment. The school administration communicates exceptionally well with parents. The parent body is involved, warm, and welcoming. Dr. Botti’s leadership has been exceptional. We highly recommend the school.
Excellent school with a compelling approach to educating boys. Dr. Botti, Head of School, has an impressive vision for all-boys education. Admissions, administration, teachers and parents are extremely welcoming and responsive. The boys are down-to-earth, motivated and fun. STEM, music/arts and community service opportunities for the boys are outstanding. College prep is very personalized to the student and starts in 9th grade to get boys and parents fully prepared for this big step. Very excited about the new Upper School building opening in 2024. It will expand course offerings for all grades, increase the student body overall and improve onsite athletic facilities. If there is concern that it is all-boys, Browning is part of New York Interschool, a consortium of the best private schools in NYC, giving the boys a chance to mingle with students from both all-girls and co-ed schools. Highly recommend Browning. A very special school focused on providing boys an incredible education!
