Meet Collegiate Diver Alexa Massari Featured In Sports Illustrated Swimsuit

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit announced Friday that a trio of Big 12 athletes will be featured in this year's magazine. 

Alexa Massari, a member of the Houston diving team, received the invite earlier this year. She was photographed by the SI Swimsuit team in Belize. 

Massari was understandably nervous about her rookie experience with SI Swimsuit. 

“Coming into the shoot, I was really nervous, but MJ [Day] and Derek [Kettela] relaxed me and told me it's just like another correction from a coach. So that was [comforting] to me and they did absolutely amazing and I’m so excited,” Massari said, via SI Swimsuit. “I was nervous, but everything just kind of came together.”

Even though Massari was nervous while on set, she called it an "amazing experience."

Massari has been diving since she was 14 years old. She joined Houston's team as a walk-on. 

In 2022, Massari's teammates voted her the Most Improved Diver. 

When she's not in the pool, Massari is studying integrated communications. She's hoping to have a career in broadcasting, brand marketing or public relations. 

The 60th edition of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit will officially be released later this month.
