4. Canterbury

5. Hastings

6. Salisbury

7. Bath

8. Oxford

9. Startford-upon-Avon

10. Liverpool

11. York

12. Edinburgh

Thanks!

It will be cheaper by rail, especially if you book Advance tickets up to 12 weeks out, trael after 0930 on weekdays and invest in a Two Together railcard.

Stay in London and do nos 1 to 9 as day trips by train. Get the train to York and stay there. Then take the train to Edinburgh. Train to Liverpool and fly home from Manchester.

train. The first eight are easy day trips from London, and for the other three the train will take half the time than driving.

If you were thinking of driving round from city to city and staying in each one, then there is a case for a car. But remember you then have the inconvenience of packing and unpacking every night. When in doubt use the train.

@Beauchamp : Great tips! May I know why it is better to stay at one city and travel to other cities by train vs staying in each city?

@C0rnc0b : 2 weeks!

@Essexwanderer : Warner Bros studio! :)

" 2 weeks!"

If that includes arrival and departure days, that's not nearly enough time for all those places. If it's 14 days excluding arrival and departure days, that's still not enough time.

You'll lose a massive amount of time if you keep going to different places and not end up with much left to actually see them.

Assuming you will fly into London and home from Edinburgh (?), I would allocate a week to London and a week to York/Edinburgh. You could do a couple of daytrips from London, but not the 8 or 9 that you currently have planned!
