I've never posted to this sub before, so I hope this is appropriate here. Timothy Omundson posted on Instagram on May 4 (of course!) that he's coming back!
Reprise role? As in be featured in new story content!?
Maybe his date night? I think he's one of the first two, isn't he?
First two? Who is the other one?
I'm not sure, sorry. I've just seen Jorgan specifically mentioned as one of the first ones.
Likely his date night, as that was one of the five that were first datamined (Of course, there is almost no dialogue in the files atm) but I wouldn't be surprised if Jorgan shows up in some other story content as well.
One of five!? Whos the other four?
So far, it's only been the first four released (Theron, Lana, Both, and Arcaan). But there are early bits in there for all the romancable Companions to date, but the four above, and Jorgan have has the most work done. At least the last time I looked at datamining.
That would be for the best I think. If you’re already bringing the VA back for the date night, mind as well give him some new content for the main story if it makes sense.
100% it has to be for the next Date Night content, given hes a killable character I doubt he will feature majorly in the main story (but we were wrong about Torian and Arcann so far).
Wait, how does Torian make a reappearance? Is it in the new Mandalorian content? (I haven't gotten there yet)
Arcann and Torian (despite being killable in kotfeet) have both started appearing as major story characters since middle Onslaught through to current swtor.
He's rather prominent, to the point he's even on the artwork
Does this point towards Vette's death being cannon?
It's a little hard to keep up with SWTOR's cannon at times unfortunately
I have let Torian die on all characters that I have past KOTET. Might have to save him once.
Thanks for sharing here!
You're very welcome! Wow, such a nice thread and it's great to see people loving on both Omundson and Aric Jorgan!
This is brilliant. I’ve watched so much of Omundson’s work just because of how much I loved Jorgan. Glad to have him back even if it’s just one line of dialogue.
I didn't know he had a stroke but it's good that he is recovering.
I doubt there'll be a lot of fighting for the Republic though, more like some date night smooching.
So did Forex's actor, FYI, though sadly, his was apparently much more severe, and he's had to fully retire.
yep tom kane, he's been part of star wars for decades.
Damn, trooper life really is dangerous
We also lost the Tanno Vik actor (David Pizzuto) in 2012. Bioware used another actor for the few bits in KOTFE and have retired the character since.
Oh shit, he’s well enough to get back into voice acting?
Yeah, he was in the last 2 psych movies. Not sure if he’s fully recovered, but he’s definitely working his way back.
Edit: I think he’s also been in a TV show since his stroke, but I haven’t watched it myself
he was in the percy jackson show as hephaestus
Yep, he's been in several shows including six episodes of This Is Us, and he's able to tour around the US this year doing his Psych podcast live at cons!
As someone noted, he's not only voice acting but has been in the Psych movies (much improved as each one comes along). And he's had guest roles on four other series in the past few years, including six episodes of one show. He's well enough that he's touring around the country appearing at fan cons with his Psych costar Maggie Lawson and recording their Psych podcast live on stage, and he's co-writing a one-man show about his experiences.
Pretty damn incredible, for a man whose family was initially told he might die, the stroke was so severe. And whose voice was badly affected by lung damage from the stroke. The fact he's voice acting again, where it's all vocal, is amazing. It's all down to how hard he's rehabbed year after year.
Oh, this is great! And really cool timing, since I just bought a signed photo of Jorgan, that I should be getting in 8-10 weeks from one of the Cons that Timothy is going to be at!
Met him at a convention once and he’s a super nice guy. Mentioned I loved him in Psych and that’s where I first saw him, but Jorgan was my favorite. He couldn’t remember any specific lines so he just said “Ah yes! ‘Havoc Squad’! I just recorded some lined for them last month! Love working with that team!” Then we talked about his work on KOTOR II and Crimson Skies, absolutely love that dude.
This is so nice to hear frm a fan who knows him more from the gaming side of his work! I posted this thread first on the Psych subreddit--I don't play SW:TOR (and yeah, I need to start!) but I follow his TV and film work closely. Your interaction sounds exactly like him--engaged and always positive. I met him in March at a con and he was incredibly sweet. Will meet him again at the Psych-only con in Chicago in a month, which I still can't believe is happening.
We're very fortunate he survived his massive stroke, and it's incredible he's returned to acting after that. He talks about having to make a conscious choice to be positive and move forward with his "new body and new brain."
That’s so good to hear! I’m glad you decided to hop over to this sub to post about it! I also knew him from Psych, so when I booted up SWTOR way back in 2011 as a trooper and I heard his voice? I lost it! Highly recommend you check out the game if you’re a fan of Star Wars especially! Every voice performance is pretty spectacular, but Omundson’s stands out as one of the better performers!
I hope you enjoy the con and tell him how much we appreciate him when you meet him again!
P.S. he’s also fantastic in Galavant if you haven’t checked that out already!
Oh my friend, Galavant is where I first encountered him! That led me to Psych and way beyond. I confess to finding YouTube videos of Aric Jorgan, so far gone am I! PSA: Keep streaming Galavant on Hulu, please-- we need to make sure it remains available on streaming, since it disappeared for nearly two years.... please and thank you. Always glad to meet another Galavant fan! Now, if I only weren't so bad at playing games...!
Woo! Space Lassie is back! 🎉
Has Jorgan had a voiced appearance since KotET? I can't remember and it's bothering me.
Omundson's IMDB credits show that KotET in 2016 was his last voice credit of any kind until now. (No idea if any other actor might have voiced Jorgan between then and now--?) He was extremely busy with TV guest roles and two indie feature films in 2015-17, then his stroke happened in spring 2017. So pleased he's adding voice acting again, post-stroke; he's already back doing TV work.
I wondered if the stroke had something to do with it. I was so excited when he got cast as Hephaestus for Percy Jackson and the Olympians, I'm so used to non-disabled actors playing disabled characters, it was such a cool change, and on top of that, c'mon, it's Jorgan! 🤣
Seeing him make such a comeback has been great. Still mourning Tom Kane losing his voice after his stroke—all the newer animated stuff with Yoda just hasn't been the same without him. 😭
I was thrilled by his role in PJO too, and hope the show's S2 will bring Hephaestus forward yet again. He's said he was extremely conscious that casting a disabled actor to play a disabled character means a great deal in terms of representation. He brings so much real-life insight to all the roles he's played post-stroke (in fact, the Psych movies have used some of his personal experiences in the scripts).
This is great news. Maybe we'll see him in future story content alongside the datamined Date Night?
that would be awesome, the more companions they figure out ways to work into the story, the better.
Wait, HE’s the VA? JORGAN IS LASSIE BOY????
Yep -- since 2011. And he's been voice acting roles in various Star Wars games since 2003. In his first game he voiced Obi Wan!
Havoc squad🤠💥
Havoc Squad second in command!! Until Elata Dorne
By order 420 Elara Dorne is removed from the chain of command! (regulation 66 subsection 96)
To steal a line from one of JT Music's Halo raps: reactivated to kick a little ass again!
Doesn't help the players who killed him....
Kind of hope Kaliyo and Vette might return.
There's no way they don't bring Vette back for at least a date night. Not sure about Kaliyo though.
I rather hope all potentially romanced companions - even if killable - will eventually get a Date Night.
I suspect Kaliyo will take a while, but Vette surely should be soonish given her popularity.
The ones I'm most excited for are Kaliyo, Jaesa (LS especially), Scourge, Jorgan, Risha and Akaavi.
Kira for me as well
True - haven't done her romance yet but have heard good things about her
Makes me happy since I promoted him last night :)
Lassie's back?!
Let's gooo
This is huge news, not just for Jorgan fans. This means that there is some kind of voice acting budget available, as it's highly unlikely the deal was reached before the broadsword takeover.
This is fantastic news :) Tim is a treasure
My cathar trooper will be happy to be able to talk to her husband again. 🙂
I thought there would be no more voice acting once it moved over to broadsword, maybe I was being a bit too much of a doomer?
Everyone liked that *
No God! No god please no! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
worst companion of all ffs.
Skadge: exists
We have Skadge, first of all.
Second of all, Aric is a soldier first and foremost. They wrote the character extremely well for that kind of personality
