After making a miraculous string of promotions from 5th tier Serie D to Serie A from 2009 to 2015, this small club that once made history and grabbed national attention has been on a trajectory of downfall in recent years, from relegating to Serie B in 2016 to Serie C in 2019 to disbandment in 2021. However, they were then promptly refounded and is now back to professionalism. Will they be able to return to Serie A one day?
I remember their time in serie a with sympathy... it was a shame they were not allowed to play on their little home ground (eibar was a similar size team in spain, and were in fact allowed to do it). They were relegated just on final day if I am not mistaken.
