Stories that ends with a twisted belly

Recommendation Request

My 2 favourite short stories are Stephen King's - the Jaunt and Alastair Reynolds - beyond the aquila rift.

Both have this big ending twist that makes your stomach twist.

Any more recommendarions like those? Stories of full books, doesn't matter.

Thanks!

I’m not familiar with the stories you mention, but I recommend short horror stories by Edgar Allen Poe (i.e., “The Telltale Heart”), H.P. Lovecraft (i.e., “The Call of Chthulu”), and Ray Bradbury (i.e., “The Veldt”). There’s also the classic short horror story “The Lottery,” by Shirley Jackson.

The Boogeyman by Stephen king.

Thanks a lot, but I need less SK, as I've read it all 🫣

The people of sand and slag by Paolo Bacigalupi. Not so much of a twist but it's ending will wrench your guts.
