movie recommendation similar to scream?

Recommendation

i have always really liked the scream franchise and i want to watch a movie that has that similar 1990's slasher, mystery, action vibe., so then does anybody have any recommendations? i would very much prefer if there were no tv series and that its only movies, or that the movie is apart of a franchise

I Know What You Did Last Summer and Urban Legend have that 90s horror whodunnit vibe that Scream has going on.

The Faculty

Tucker and Dale vs Evil

The Cabin in the Woods is meta and somewhat comedic in similar ways.

Well that's a bit of a stretch, but I'd never not recommend watching Cabin

There's also stuff like Halloween H20: 20 Years Later & Halloween: Resurrection, but those really require you to see the first two Halloween films from the late 70s/early 80s (the rest of the sequels are considered part of a separate continuity), as well as Jason X and Freddy vs Jason, but then again those are best enjoyed having seen all the prior Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street films.

Keep in mind also that a lot of these films are remakes, mostly of films made in the 70s and 80s.

Finally, outside of the horror genre, if you like Scream's style/aesthetic/cast etc, you might enjoy these 15 films/franchises:

  • Freeway (1996)

    • Freeway II: Confessions of a Trickbaby (1999)

  • Wild Things (1998)

    • Wild Things 2 (2004)

    • Wild Things: Diamonds in the Rough (2005)

    • Wild Things: Foursome (2010)

  • Cruel Intentions (1999)

    • Cruel Intentions 2 (2000)

    • Cruel Intentions 3 (2004)

  • Teaching Mrs. Tingle (1999)

  • The Skulls (2000)

    • The Skulls II (2002)

    • The Skulls III (2004)

  • The Glass House (2001)

    • Glass House: The Good Mother (2006)

If you die in the game, you die in real life!

Whoever said size doesn't matter never played a third-person shooter. Can I have a 42 inch this time? You know I like the big ones.
