Overall, Ardsley high school was something I wish I could never relive. The academics were good, the facilities were great, and the students achieved well. But, Ardsley high school is less than the sum of its parts. I would never want to relive this experience. Kids are exclusive, mean, and spread rumors constantly. They have no respect and lack basic values. Yes, they perform well in the classroom, but are some of the worst people you can be around. The administration pretends to care about you. The teachers are okay. They aren't nice by any stretch of my imagination but do a decent job teaching the material. One particular department teacher is questionable. If you are popular and well of socially, and are good at everything, then AHS may be the school for you. Overall, I wish I never came to Ardsley High School. I am so happy that I will never see those kids again in my lifetime.
Overall my four years at this high school was the most trial and error I have ever faced. I had to figure out what learning strategies I needed to maximize my grades while at the same time figuring out who are my real friends. Luckily this school did a decent job with creating a safe and stable environment for student to really thrive. They pick each student back up when they need the help. Without the unending resources this school gave, I would not be the same.
I think that overall the Ardsley High School had a very strong learning environment and I felt comfortable asking my teachers and peers for help. They were always available for anything during the ninth periods, which I greatly appreciated. However, there are some kids that made the experience miserable. Ardsley is unfortunately overrun with privileged annoying kids who never took responsibility in their lives and whose parents defend them blindly. The teachers and staff usually side with them but also fail to take charge in dealing with serious transgressions. There is also a bit of racism in the school that people pass off as “joking with my friends” but nobody really stands up to the mean kids and tells them what they’re doing is wrong. If they do, they’re shunned.
