A judge has to deal with his four daughters, his four future sons-in-law and four weddings all on the same day.
Charming, but not quite as poignant as it tries to be, this ABC Movie of the Week sees Robert Young as a liberal, widowed judge who has to juggle all four of his daughters getting married on the same day. It has lightly comical touches, but it leans much more heavily toward the dramatic side of things, making it a dramedy. Surprisingly, for a competent cast, the acting is a little rough at times, feeling forced, almost like a sitcom. But it still has some tender moments as Young confronts each of his daughters and sons-in-law-to-be about their plans for the future and realizes that he'll soon be an empty-nester. It tries, clumsily, to address some of the contemporary issues…
