- NicanorRosarioSanto Domingo, Dominican Republic1,208 contributionsBeautiful place. It has that "middle of nowhere" charm that makes you feel adventurous.
It also has an amazing garden. Visit it!Written April 9, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The chef is American and it wasn't busy so the service was super attentive.
There is a tent attached (enclosed) to the main restaurant, right on the dock. which could be lovely (weather permitting) but it was too windy for me, so we sat inside.
The chef was very helpful with suggestions and was very accommodating as to what he could prepare for us.
Yes, I gotta go back here.Written July 21, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. On delightful Kirkestraede, with its sloping tiled roof and brick and timber facades, it makes for a gorgeous sight.
By happy happenstance in the late 1880s, submerged under multiple accretions of lime, a door overhang was found with the script ANNA ANO DNI MDXXVII. Revealing remarkably its origins back in 1527.
Now incorporated into the local Library and specifically the Children’s section, we were interested to see whether the interior mirrored the lovely outside.
But the modernity of the main Library segues uninterrupted into the space; you’d be unaware that you were in an area with such an exceptional exterior.Written November 2, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. All these designs for the royal gobelins, they are really amazing. They are all on the 3rd floor of the museum, that is why the roof is a bit high and wide.Written September 24, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Standing at one side of entrance it makes for a marvellous sweep to its full extent. Lovely architecture is present, including the Casino and grand red brick buildings with stepped gables.
A fine sculpture of Majestic Frederik VII is a centrepiece.
It was inaugurated in 1869 on the 20th anniversary of the Constitution that was signed by the King in 1849 that brought Absolute Monarchy to a conclusion.Written May 14, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Unfortunately we forgot swimming shorts for our two little boys, but were able to purchase them on-site at very reasonable price. The pool provides swimming gear for kids still on the swimming learning-curve. Pool has a nice slide, an area with a diving board and even a diving tower for the less faint-hearted. All areas are clean, and there is enough personnel overlooking the areas. Worth a visit in case of bad-weather conditions, or when children are looking for a break from sight-seeing.Written March 7, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - permiaIreland61,404 contributionsOriginally from the mid 1500s when the citizens were granted special privileges by the King Christian III. Constructed in the Renaissance manner, it was an imposing edifice.
In the early 1900s it was completely refashioned, to the Neo-Classical style. In the last half century, due to the growth of the area of governance, a major expansion was undertaken.Written December 29, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
