Lakeridge High School Reviews
Rating 3.9 out of 5 218 reviews
Although no high school is perfect, I am grateful to have spent the past four years at Lakeridge. The biggest part of my experience that stands out are the teachers and administration. All of the teachers I've had genuinely care about their students and are genuinely educated in their subject area. Both my teachers and my administration are always there to answer questions and assist students, which has been extremely helpful. An area that we are lacking in as a school is school spirit. It has definitely gotten better over the years, but I hope to see more improvement in the coming years. Participation in spirit days, cheering at sports games, and being an active member of the community enhances the high school experience so much, so I hope to see change in this area.
I went to Lakeridge all four years including during the COVID-19 pandemic. There were a few bumps during that time but overall Lakeridge prepared me quite well academically and now I'm a first year college student. I rarely had bad experiences with teachers, and many had a lasting impact on me. The administration also was supportive most of the time. As mentioned by others, Lakeridge is definitely not very diverse, leading to some issues regarding cultural awareness. Lakeridge used to feel very inclusive but over time, maybe due to the pandemic, it became a lot more cliquey. However, it's not hard to find your people via clubs, sports, classes, etc. I definitely am grateful that I ended up attending Lakeridge.
Lakeridge High School is a good school with many teachers being exceptional at their job. Each class for the most part does their job in teaching students while also challenging them to use their cognitive knowledge. The school is very big on all their other sectors like their sports program and fine arts program. The only lacking area in the school is their clubs. There is not much activity in many clubs at the school and there isn't much support for them aside from some volunteer clubs.
