As we count down to the start of the global showpiece, FIFA+ is reflecting on memorable moments from past tournaments, celebrating legendary performers, and building up to the biggest Women’s World Cup of all time.

The FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015™ kicked off in record-breaking fashion, with 24 teams lining up at the finals for the first time.

The records continued to tumble from there, as Jill Ellis's USA side became the first nation to lift the trophy for a third time by sinking defending champions Japan 5-2 in an epic final at Vancouver Stadium.

That high-scoring affair was very much in keeping with the tournament, with an all-time high 146 goals (now level with France 2019) finding the net during a pulsating festival of football.

A total of 107 goals found the net during the group stage, including Amandine Henry's long-range screamer for France against Mexico, and Maren Mjelde's wonderful free-kick in Norway's draw with Germany.
