Why subscribe?

Subscribe to get full access to a whole pile of exclusive historical content, which I won’t be posting anywhere else. With a paid subscription of £5 a month, you will have access to:

  • Short Articles, at least two a month

  • Frequent WW1 picture posts with extended descriptions

  • Podcasts, at least one a month

  • Full length written features, the length of a book chapter, one a month will take a deeper dive into something that has sidetracked me from what I am supposed to be doing.

  • Videos, yes, some of which will involve drunk history as I am out and about.

  • Once a month, I’m also planning to do some director’s commentary style audio of terrible historical films so that you will be able to play it alongside said film and laugh along at your leisure. I’ll be bringing on various mates to join me.

Soon, tying in my previous life with my current, you’ll also get an invite to cocktail club once a month, where you can learn about the history of various drinks and how to make them. I’ll send out ingredient lists in advance too, in case you want to make-along.

Being a historian is time-consuming, and every little bit helps justify the time spent on it so that less adulting can take place. I think it’s fair to say that nobody wants to work for free, and there’s a huge discrepancy out there as far as content creators are concerned. Until I find a multi-millionaire husband in his 80s, the hustling will have to continue, but I’ll do my best to make it worth your money.

TV Presenter/Historian (FRHistS). MRes. That makes me sound like an adult. Which is a lie. I guess, come for those credentials, stay for the sarcastic, sweary version of history? 20th Century Military, royals, older wars boats and other rabbit holes.
