Keepsake

On February 28th, 2019, Hatchie announced via Facebook that her debut album, “Keepsake”, would be released by Ivy League Records on June 21st, 2019. In the same post, Ivy League Records wrote that on Keepsake, “Hatchie brings an unlikely transcendence to the tenderest of moments. Throughout the album, Hatchie’s kaleidoscopic sonic palette draws out distinct moods and tones, continually revealing her depth and imagination as a musician and songwriter.”

Lead single “Without a Blush” had been released on streaming platforms, along with an accompanying music video on YouTube, two days earlier.

Hatchie discussed the album’s title with Consequence of Sound:

It was a word that popped up in one of the songs, ‘Kiss the Stars’. I talk about keeping a heart as a keepsake, and I thought it was really nice. I have a bunch of little keepsakes and mementos in a drawer at home. I thought that this album would be a keepsake, kind of like a time capsule of this time in my life. So, it just kind of makes sense. I didn’t put too much thought into it at the time, which is good because I was worried I would be agonizing over it. I really liked that it was an easy decision to name the album Keepsake.
