PFC Charesa Joy Calhoun Obituary

Charesa Joy Calhoun began this walk of life on March 4th, 1996, in Carrollton, Georgia, to the parentage of Freddie Calhoun and Theresa Calhoun.  Charesa was affectionately known as Joy, by many family and friends.  Joy accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, and united with Move of God Bibleway Tabernacle Church, Alpine, Alabama.

Joy received her formal education in the Sylacauga City School System and was a part of the Sylacauga Varsity Volleyball Team.  Joy graduated with the class of 2014 at Sylacauga High School.  After school, Joy began her work journey and was employed with, Nemak Plant, Sylacauga, Alabama, Honda Manufacturing of Alabama, and Children’s Place in Fort Payne.  In 2021, Joy decided to change careers and enlist with the United States Army where she currently served as active duty and ranked Private First Class (PFC). 

Along Joy’s life’s journey she met and united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Marcus Judkins, to this union Jace and Jomar were born. 

On July 22, 2021, Charesa Joy Calhoun departed this walk of life in Appling, Georgia.  She was preceded in death by her father, Freddie Calhoun and one sister Gabrielle Calhoun.

Joy’s love will forever be cherished by her husband, Marcus Judkins; two children, Jace Judkins and Jomar Judkins; loving mother, Theresa Calhoun; two sisters, Charmayne (Tonya) Calhoun, and Miracle Calhoun; grandmother, Arlinda Vereen; great grandmother, Clara Sims; great grandfather, Roy Sims; two sister in laws, Cynthia Judkins, and Twrhonda Judkins; two brother in laws, Romie Judkins and Malachi Vereen; uncles, Jerry (Lucille) McAdams, Larry (Annie Bell) McAdams, William (Ashley) McAdams, Terry (Dorothy) Thomas, Melvin Calhoun, and Milton Calhoun; aunts, Louise Hale, Minnie (Larry) Wilson, Anne Mae (Johnny) Rodgers, Wendy McAdams, and Jean Calhoun; and a host of other relatives and friends.
