The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the IPL 2023 final on May 28, the organisers confirmed on Friday, April 21. The IPL had announced the schedule for the group stages earlier and confirmed the venues for the play-offs and the final.

Ahmedabad will also host the IPL 2023 Qualifier 2 while the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai will host the Qualifier 1 and Eliminator.

The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will get to host the final for the second successive time. The 2022 edition was played across 4 venues in Mumbai and Pune but the play-offs and the final were held in Kolkata and Ahmedabad.

Notably, the opening match of IPL 2023 was held at the Narendra Modi Stadium as MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings and Hardik Pandya's defending champions, Gujarat Titans took the field. Gujarat defeated Chennai, much to the delight of the local fans who witnessed a grand opening ceremony where the likes of Arijit Singh and Rashmika Mandhana performed.
