Long before finding out about Gary's acting career, I was impressed with his humility and warmth. To see that he willingly gave up that future for the more important...devoting himself to his family, just goes to show the wonderful character that is Gary Gray. The world lost a great man, but the eternities gained a much greater one. A favorite quote from Elder Neal A Maxwell is: "Death is not a period, but only a comma". May you be comforted to know you will all be together again.....

I consider myself one of the luckiest girls in the world.
I like Nephi in the Book of Mormon was born to goodly parents (a mother and a father). All of us came into this world with an earthly father but not everyone is lucky enough to have that special person called a dad. I was lucky, I had a dad.
I've made mistakes on this earthly trek and I haven't always done those things that would make my dad proud of me, but he always loved me.
My Dad showed his love by:
Loving my mother with all his heart.
Giving me hugs, when I really needed them.
Teaching me to care more about others than myself.
Smiling often at others.
Teaching me how to pray and how to forgive.
Cooking me cheeseburgers and taking me out for ice cream cones.
Teaching me how to dive and do a back flips into the pool.
Riding on the Mouse roller coster with me.
Being at my school plays and concerts.
And in so many other ways.
My Dad was a great example of what a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend should be. I am a better person because of him.
He was my Hero. He was as the song says the "Wind beneath my wings".
He will forever be in my heart and mind.
I thank my Father in Heaven everyday for having been so blessed, and for the knowledge I have that our families can be Eternal. I know with all my heart I will see my Dad again.
Love Dads little songbird, April

Dear Gary,
As one of Carrie's friends growing up I spent a lot of time in your home. You and Jean treated me like another of your kids and I will never forget that. We put you through your paces but you never let us forget how important we were to you. You were a wonderful father and will be missed on so many levels. God Bless.

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.
Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.
If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

Jean and family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Gary was our first home teacher when we moved to vancouver, we always loved his visits especially our 3 girls. Gary was always kind, loving, an excellent golfing partner and wore great cowboy boots. May your family be blessed always by his influence for good as we have been. I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Gary at the Memphis Film Festival. He shared both his memories of Hollywood and his faith in God with me. I'm sure he is with the Lord now. He was a decent man. There should be more like him.
