Marywood Rakes In Two Major Awards; Seven Named All-Conference

Davis announced as Rookie of the Year, McNally earned Elite 20

Lancaster, Pa. – Marywood University freshman Kat Davis was named the Atlantic East Conference Softball Rookie of the Year, officials announced Tuesday. Junior Emma McNally was the conference's Atlantic East Elite 20 recipient. 

Marywood had seven student-athletes recognized on All-Conference teams. 

Kat Davis earns Rookie of the Year honors after a strong first campaign. The second basewoman was named to the All-Atlantic East First team for her work at second base. Davis finished the season with a .290 batting average and 38 hits to go with 12 RBIs and 12 walks. Davis fielded .955 fielding percentage in conference play.

The Atlantic East Elite 20 award winner for softball, which is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average competing at the finals site at each of the Atlantic East's 20 team championships, was awarded to Emma McNally. She maintains a cumulative 3.97 GPA.

McNally was named First Team All-Conference as well posting a .351 batting average belting a team-leading six home runs and 12 doubles. 

Joining Davis and McNally as first team all-conference is Marissa Gregory, Jessica Hanley, and Priscilla Grill.

Gregory ended the season with a 1.88 Earned Run Average earning 15 wins, seven of which were shutouts. In 160 innings of work she recorded five saves, an opponent batting average of .212, and an impressive .94 WHIP. Hanley led the Pacers with a .383 batting average. She also had 132 putouts with a fielding percentage of .978. Grill played multiple positions this season playing left field and third base for the Pacers. She batted .284 recording 27 hits. 

Abbey Stalter and Tori Para was named to the Second Team. Stalter in 72 chances recorded a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. The senior also held a .282 batting average and .398 on base percentage. Para batted .330 with 11 doubles and 25 RBIs. She recorded two triples and a home run as well.

Unplayable field conditions ended Marywood University's softball season as Atlantic East Conference runner-ups on Sunday. The Pacers finished the season with a 24-16 overall record. 

For the second straight season top honors went to Marymount's Kaylynn Johnson. The third basemen finished the year with top five stats in seven categories. Johnson finished conference play with a league high 17 RBIs, while sitting second in homeruns (4), slugging percentage (.875) and hits (17). For the season Johnson had 50 hits and 45 runs batted in to lead the league.
