Alvin Anson is one of the rare Character Actors working today to move easily between Mainstream and Avantgarde Materials
Alvin Anson had a non-engaging bio before He began work as a serious Actor years back, I’ve watched some re-runs of movies he made in the 90’s compared to his achievements at present; I’d say he is a better Thespian now than he was back then “I was not a serious actor yet at that time & didn’t catch the acting bug seriously until now” he said in a lengthy telephone interview.
Growing up in a family of Actors; His first taste of the film business as a young adult & hanging around a showbiz environment with a hint of music is quite prevalent now — Alvin Anson also does hosting & singing gigs on the side in between movie sets.
Currently, busy on the set of different Prime time soap operas and day time dramas understandable why his schedule is going berserk now a days.
I first saw him in a Val Iglesias film called “Ang Bagong Dugo” (“New Blood”) in 2014 with a heady villainous role —that he effectively pulled in a risky, ethereal way. Strengthening the role descriptions as seen in his mid-career in different soap operas & Independent film materials; he unconsciously gives the viewer a portrait and breadth of his characters in the end, tied to his good looks (foreign viewers can’t tell if he was Caucasian or straight out Filipino) & qualities to his professional adventures including his role in two Historical films “Heneral Luna” & “Goyo,Ang Batang Heneral” that earned him a fan following from different age ranges. Asked if He will play General Alejandrino for the third time; “I am not sure, its usually the Producers and film Directors discretion, he said.
He is in a Gorio Vicuna film, Co - directed by Anthony Diaz IV a psychological thriller that is based on the 14 station of the cross called “Way of the Cross” where he plays a Priest. Alvin is also in the film “Ang Pag-ibig ko’y Ikaw” both films is still to be released in theaters.
