The lady taking the orders was very nice and helpful. The food was delicious. Acke and salt fish is a acquired taste and often not done well with very little acke. This was not the case. Overall cashiers were friendly and helpful. They offered suggestions according to your palate. They do offer take out and dining room service, They have menus available. However parking needs a little updating.

This is the 2nd year in the row my order has been missing important items. I haven’t been to cool runnings since last Father’s Day. This is the only thing my dad wants to eat on Father’s Day and I do not know why. I...drive an hour each direction to get this for him. Last year my order was missing a dozen beef patties and jerk sauce and condiments for 8 meals. Today I decided not to order as much but I was still missing 4 beef patties and jerk sauce. I also ordered 6 meals. Both purchases were well over $100. It’s unacceptable for me to have driven 2 hours and have to force my family to eat dry jerk chicken. On top of that, I had to wait 20 minutes to get my online in order, while I stood there and looked at the bags. Multiple staff walked passed me and several other waiting customers. I called multiple times to report my missing items, just as I did last year and of course no one answered. I don’t think y’all realize how many Jamaican restaurants are opening in the Houston area. The food was very fresh. The customer service was horrible. The young women that worked the register were absolutely rude, unfriendly and unprofessional. Our tab came out to 73. I took my friends here because I love this place. Even though the food was very...good the customer service was unacceptable. It was their first time going to the restaurant and they were not pleased with the service. We could have went somewhere else and paid for a cheaper meal and got great service. They never told us why we were waiting so long and our order wasn't right. The prices aren't displayed anymore so I really don't know if I was over charged. So good food and bad service is a disaster. I don't think I will be coming back here. We try to support this establishment and then we have a horrible experience. I know that this doesn't matter but it means alot when we are spending money. If it hadn't been for me wanting my friends to experience your restaurant I definitely would have left. The food was amazing! It is the BEST jerk chicken I've ever had in the city. The flavors were just perfect, and the chicken was cooked to perfection. The manager owner is a jerk, he has a terrible attitude and he don't know how to treat people, very unprofessional when it comes to dealing with people. I don't know what happen to the jerk taste to the chicken it taste more like baked...chicken.More
We walked through the take out area to the dining room. We were immediately greeted and asked if this was our first time visiting, which it was. The greeter explained everything in great detail. Our original plan was to order jerk chicken plates, but apparently...on Fridays after 6pm there's a buffet. So we chose the buffet. The jerk chicken was delicious. The seafood rice was addictive. Spicy shrimp and jerk pork all excellent. There's other items as well. Such as cabbage, seafood soup, plantains, peas and rice and more. The service was excellent from the greeter to the waitress. Around $14.99 for the buffet. Lots of parking available. They offer a Sunday brunch with more items.More
Tried this with a Houston newbie on a whim and was not disappointed. It looks like a grab and go place at first, but they do have a sit down area with a small bar area. I ordered the jerk pork (a la carte) and...it was just the right amount of spice level for me. I like spicy food, but not to the point where you don't have flavor. If you want more spice, they have some sauces as well. The staff was friendly and answered our questions to make recommendations. The meat was a little fattier than I might like it but the flavor was awesome.More
Visited Cool Runnings on 9/9 10/12 & 11/26. On each occasion Ive hade the Fried Snapper with Escovitch and Jerk Chicken Wings. And the last visit I got pineapple ginger juice, which reminded me of how my grandma used to make it. I must say...with all 3 visits I have not been disappointed yet. Authentic Jamaican food. They have the best Sunday Brunch in Houston. Food desert and it comes with bottomless Mimosas and dessert. Jerk hamburgers Stewed Chicken and Curry Shrimp are all delicious
It was the best 'Island' food I've had in awhile. The portions were ample and the selections were delectable! The price of a small portion fit my budget with plenty on my plate. I have been back for more and will yet go again!
