Mumbai beat Pune for just the one time this season, but did when it mattered the most, shoving their neighbours to second in priority to brutally mimic real life. People seem to be talking about this Wannacry ransomware, but trust me, IPL is the one surrendering us into a pay-off, year after year, riding our interest wave like a hobby horse to complete a cycle of ten glorious years. A reshuffle beckons next season, a new-look tournament awaits us and we look forward to that. That will be it from IPL 2017. Hope you liked what we typed. For now, this is your commentator Pratyush Sinha taking leave on behalf of his colleagues: Kumar Abhisekh Das, Siva, Sagar Chawla, Ramakrishnan, Pradeep and rest of the team. Live, laugh, love. This one's for Myra. See you on the other side, ta-ta.

Who were the hits and who were the misses of IPL 10? Harsha Bhogle has his team of the tournament

The youngsters who stood out: Nitish Rana triggered his tournament in style, batting at No. 3 for a good part this season, while Rishabh Pant outdid all that life lashed at him with 366 runs across this season. Basil Thampi's yorkers, Mohammed Siraj's pace and Rahul Tripathi's shots cloaked in overwhelming modesty had our jaws dropping. Sanju Samson rediscovered his midas touch, much like Siddarth Kaul, who was successfully summoned many a time to bowl the all-important last over. Washington Sundar was phenomenal for a teenager, much like Rashid Khan. A young, a very young, IPL so to say, acting as a sneak peek into what the future beholds.

What did 2017 have for us? From the top of the points table last year to its absolute bottom in this -- Gujarat and Bangalore's change in fortunes were the perfect microcosms of how different an IPL season this was. Chinnaswamy's pitch was its dissimilar stepbrother, playing low and slow to be the lowest-scoring ground this year, effectively disarming the famous Gayle-Kohli-ABD triumvirate that might have played together for the last time ever. MS Dhoni wasn't leading a side for the first time in ten years, while Sunil Narine recovered from the his bent-elbow days with breakthrough opening skills that were too good to allow Gambhir an extended run at the top. Kolkata Knight Riders evolved from a spin-hinging side to one of pace-bowling wildlings, perfectly adapting to an Eden Gardens pitch that was as quick as Chinnaswamy was not. That's how different this IPL season was.

Rohit Sharma walks on the stage, collects the IPL trophy and his team-mates rush to the centre to pose with the title.

Rohit Sharma: "I was quite nervous to be honest, but the guys pulled off a great game. To defend 130 was a great effort. I am very happy. We never needed to change our plan. If you take one wicket, two, three could come. We discussed about that. We bowled great variations. A lot of credit to the bowling unit. When you have bowlers like Bumrah and Malinga in the side, the belief is always there. Our spinners too, throughout the season, have been bowling well. This final will be special for me because of the way the team fought. Hats off to all the guys."

Mumbai Indians get a winners cheque of 15 crore.

Steven Smith: "It's a hard one to swallow. I am proud of the way the boys played throughout the season. A lot of credit should go to Mumbai as well. 130 was an under-par score, but they fought well. They bowled beautifully. I thought Johnson was magnificent. Bumrah and Malinga were very good as well. It's a wonderful tournament to be part of. I would like to thank the RPS team management. It is always nice when you are winning and getting to the final, but it's a bit disappointing to lose in the final."

Runners-up cheque of 10 crore is given to Rising Pune Supergiant

Ben Stokes gets the Most Valuable Player of the season award.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar gets the Purple Cap - for topping the bowling charts with 26 wickets.

David Warner gets the Orange Cap for scoring 641 runs - the most in the season.

Glenn Maxwell wins the award for hitting the most number of sixes in the season.

Basil Thampi wins the emerging player of the season award.

Sunil Narine wins the award for the fastest fifty of the season - 15 balls against RCB at the Chinnaswamy.

Gujarat Lions win the fairplay award.

Krunal Pandya, Man of the Match: "I really feel great that I contributed in two big games. Wickets fell at the other end when I was batting. So I wanted to bat deep, because the pitch was slow. It's how you prepare before the start of the tournament. It feels great to be Man of the Match in my first IPL final. I have to give a lot of credit to Nitin Patel for getting me fit in time for the play-offs."

Deepu for one last time with his numbers during the IPL:

Mumbai Indians become the second team to win the IPL title after topping the league table after Rajasthan Royals in 2008.

129 - lowest total defended in IPL final and one is the narrowest win in a final.
